A few months ago, we installed the Team Green LSD in Micahs car. 3rd time down the track, this...
We arent sure if the insert let go first or the diff taking out the lsd, either way, both are pooched.
I will say this, Im very proud of him, he broke good

Correct me if I'm wrong but didnt he do the burnout contest with it too And i thought i saw pics and videos of burnouts right after the install. I think its safe to say he abused it a little, lol.
Nice carnage pics none the less.

The TG insert broke under near-stock power with a set of drag radials on stock axles?

Wow.

probably cause something else let go first is my guess. its a pretty thick chunk to just break on its own.

Yeah, Darren wanted to do a couple of burnouts to test it all out after the install. That was the only time my car did a burnout with the LSD installed. Broke the damn thing at least 3-4hrs before the burnout contest. I was getting a crazy amount of wheel hop on my first two runs so something must have shaken loose or broke due to that.
I got the car back yesterday and it's running just fine.

Sounds like operator error, not equipment malfunction. I've seen stock cars blow up transmissions and axles because of wheel hop. Learn how to drive and I'd be willing to be the issue is solved. Typical of today's generation, place the blame elsewhere instead of saying...I can't drive. WHEEL HOP WILL DESTROY ANY AXLES, ANY TRANSMISSION, AND ANY DIFFERENTIAL.

Nowhere did we blame the equipment. He knows thats the reason things blew up.

The thread title is a bit misleading then. I have a great deal of respect for Brian and all of Team Green. No where in the original post was it mentioned about wheel hop and driver error. It was more hinting towards weak parts.

The weakness in these transmissions lies not in the trans itself, but in the person behind the wheel. I think it's quite funny to read how some are having problem after problem with transmissions, yet others with nearly twice the power have no issues whatsoever.

I think its funny that my Isuzu has held up better than any of my Getrags. Yes I do drive my 98 hard, just like my 02.

I have plenty of faith in Brian and team green and their parts. I put one of their LSD's in my Sunfire.
I didnt even know he was getting wheel hop till yesterday when I met him at the shop to pick the car up.

And Clyde, I call BS on driving the 98 hard, I have seen how you drive that car

Yepp title is completely misleading, it and the original post gives bad credit to TG, not to the moron driving the car

It should say "Idiot driver destroys a TG LSD"

No you have not. I baby it a lot but I did the same with my 02. The 98 has been driven very hard many times though. Right now I just putz around in the 02 as the motor has well over 200K on it and this trans (roughly 6K miles on it) is already starting to give me trouble. I have NEVER beaten this trans and it is already starting.

Now the NVG in my truck has taken far more abuse that it should have ever taken and still holds up. Sounds a bit rough but it did go about 60K miles with a trans leak and apparently when it was my dads he never checked the fluid level. For only having about a quart of fluid in it, the thing sure did hold up well.

So your calling me a moron and an idiot? You sir, are a @!#$ douche bag. You don't even know me. I would like nothing more right now than to punch you right in the face for being so god damn ignorant. We all know that'll never happen because you probably live in the states and in about 30min I'll be calm again. Next time, don't talk @!#$ about people you don't know. In the end it'll just end up making you look stupid.
I'll admit that I'm a noob when it comes to drag racing. I rarely ever race mostly because the closest track is almost 2hrs away and my work schedule doesn't give me much freedom to go out and do things. I do want to go out more to practice and will when the opportunity presents itself.

Ah yes, this forums notorious, "you are a @!#$ idiot" bull@!#$ strikes again. I love how everyone decides to chastise and belittle others over such minor things as a misleading title. It is safe to assume I am younger than many on this forum and I can easily say I have a higher maturity level than several on here.
