If I'm not mistaken I believe that was one of MBRP's project cars we did a turbo kit for. As to it's current owner, I'm not too sure.
Street-Legal 2003 Sunfire 10.58 @ 139 MPH
I talked to this guy for like an hour at the swap meet in moultry Ga. The current owner lives some were in south Ga. The car has like 4000 miles on it. It was built at a shop in southern California for SEMA. GM payed for all of it. It is kinda ugly. But it has some serious history. It has ALL the best parts there is just gobbs and gobbs of money in that thing. the guy that owens it now told me last november that he had only driven it twice once two the swap meet were i meet him and about five miles up the street to get a cup of coffee one morning. The guy is a high end collector of NE thing with a motor on it. He trade a couple of show bikes to the guy that bout it ar Barret Jackson. He said it sold for a good bit. Cant remember the figures sorry. Amazing that we would get something like this down here in our area.
it totally needs that massive aluminum wing and super tach.
I must confess... I feel like a monster!
such quality never looked worse!

Had this been posted years back when it was built everyone would have been like "ooo that's nice". The scene has just changed so much that it's out of style now. I can respect the work that was put into it.
you can speak for yourself.... i can safely say that there has never been a time; and doubt there will be, that i think that cars looks nice. id love to have the power plant and possibly suspension... but as far as exterior/interior, they can keep it! now if the paint schemes were different and not ugle as hell... it may be a different (slightly different, still isnt my "bag")story.
honestly that car could be easily turned around with alot of paint and some new seats...

saw this car yesterday in my home town of Niceville Florida...i wasnt driving my Cav though, i was in my DD...if i didnt have to work and i was in my car i would have turned around and gone after it cause i saw it on the way home from work as well with the bags at 100%..the rear end was stickin up in the air. kinda interesting.

I'm hanging out in Santa Rosa county. Milton to be more specific.
Definite repaint needed. Interior is so-so.

your pretty much right, when this was built yellow was a big color at the time and tons of people loved it. a new paintjob and wrap the seats in black and take some pics of it sitting low instead of jacked up as its shown above and im sure more people would like it. though we are in the phase where everyone wants a stock car. so im sure even then people would still hate it.

it has done some local shows in FT. Walton Beach, FL. i had a couple of friends at those shows tell me bout that same exact Sunfire and i didn't believe them, but i did some research and i came up with it was built for SEMA 2002 (Googled images of yellow Sunfires) . My friends say that the documentations that he is presenting at the shows is not original. The owner is saying it was a GM concept car that he bought from GM. YEAH RIGHT!!!! So it sounds like this guy does not know what kind of car he has and the history of it.
I am ready to be at the same show as him and see what story he gives me. I am betting he will be at Spring Fling 2010 in Panama City Beach FL.
at least the guy didnt crash it up and part it out.
Always thought the outside was great, but inside, needs black interior.

i always wondered if you paint the the car black where it was yellow.......and redid the interior black and painted the wheels bronze how would it look
