Ok I Bought It, I Read The Instructions, Looked In the Manual Cant Find The PCM Computer. and the box doesnt say for a cavalier,
first i will ask the stupid question, do you have a 3 speed, or 4 speed auto? to my knoledge, (your profile doesn't say it's a z24) the coupes in 99 ALL had the 3 speed, and the z had the 4 speed auto... with this said, if you have the 3 speed, the shift plus won't work... either way, the computer is inside the passanger wheel well, behind the splash guard

Taken from LittleBill's registry... I followed these instructions and it was a simple install:
"TO INSTALL SHIFT KIT #70380 AT TRANNY... 2 MINUTE INSTALL: this install was done on a 98 2.2l 4 speed auto, this connector is found in the front of the transmission to the left of the battery, and to the right of the header, it is gray and circular, it is about 6 inches down from the red tranny vent plug, thats says trans, it is 2 inches in diameter, the wires u are connecting is the black wire to the lt blue with white stripe, now the other red wire you want to install to is the red wire with black stripe this wire is directly underneath the light blue one, not the one to the right of it, which is another red with black stripe wire, which has a dark blue wire underneath, look at the connector with the white arrow at 180 degrees, any problems let me know, i get no engine lights, and my ets off light doesn't come on like some people have had problems with stage II. "

Its a late model 98. I Just assumed that all 98s were 4 speeds, but if it shifts at 20 then 40, then most likely it would be a three right?
some 99s were 4 speed 2.2. my sister and i bought cavs at the same time, mine was a 3 spd, hers was 4. she also had trac control, i didnt.
Well How Exactly Do You Find Out What Speed It Is
Look at the shift stick does it say PRND321 or PRND21? If it looks like this PRND321 then you can install it, if not well then toss it under your bed and forget about it, cuz it's not going to work.
