abs and brake! lights on

i bought a 95 cavy. it had a bad f/l wheel cyl bearing and the wires for abs to that wheel had worn in two on the cvc boot. fixed both but still have dash warning lights on and no abs. all the fuses are good. is there a system reset or do i have a bad speed sensor. hope this post is ok--my first one.

First off. There is not a wheel cylinder in the front of the car. A wheel cylinder is the equivilant of the brake caliper but is used in the rear drum brakes . The item you are calling a wheel cylinder is called the hub assembly. It is on peice that also includes the wheel bearing. Now that that is cleared up, we can move on.

If you have made the repiar to that wire correctly and the ABS lite still comes on, you have further problems and need to take the car somewhere they can scan the system for codes. Before any body says "Oh,Oh, go to Autozone", they can't pull it. They only pull codes for the Check Engine Light. You need to go to a shop to get the code pulled.

mine come on sometimes when i crank my car while its rolling on a hill and im pushing the brake at the same time i crank it. i dont know why but i just turn off the car and start it again and the lights are off.. what a wonderful fix right! lol but for real id take it to a brake shop.. do this first though, check the plug thats goes into your ABS module, if its not plugged in all the way the light will stay on.. oh and try rechecking the wires you patched together, make sure that they are getting a good connection, check the fluid too just to make sure... other than that i can be of no help.. sorry man i know i hate those dam lights too... my seatbelt light stays on because my airbags are taken out, i taped over the airbag light but didnt know at the time that the seatbelt light would stay on too.. oh well.. ill get to it one day....

My traction and BRAKE light were coming on because the senson broke off the base of the ebrake handle and was grounding itself on something. Put some electrical tape on the sensor so it couldn't ground and problem solved. Do 03+ even have ABS lights or is that what my traction light is?
