cams for a 2.4L

I have a stock '99 Sunfire GT. I am wondering if it'd be possible to use the cams off of a quad 2.3L, or if it'd be better to just buy bigger ones. Also, what should I get for my car first if I'm going to modify it. I'm staying away from nitrous.

We spend our life in chains, not knowing that we have the key

you can do both. get cams off of the 2.3 or get cams somehwhere else. read the Secret Cam sticky in the performance Forum. its at the top you cant miss it.
and most people start with an intake. i started with suspension

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!

yeah most start with an intake and exhaust. that makes a noticable difference. now i would do all performance first or all looks first. its just hard to do everything at once or at least it was for me

quad4 cams are out of the 95 engine (intake camshaft) and the 90-94 LGO engine(exhaust camshaft) (i believe the pre95 engine has to be a low output [LO] engine, but if im wrong im sure someone will correct me) and they are pretty much a direct fit in on the 96+ 2.4L. and i believe gains are pretty good. if you dont feel like lookin for the sticky yourself here it is-- clicky

now as for a starting point, most do start with an intake, then move to an exhaust system of their choice, and go from there. but its really up to you to know what you want to do. if youre lookin for more of an exterior superiority, then go for that first, start with a body kit or something. but if you want to go the performance route, i would suggest starting with a better handling. our cars are pretty quick little bastards, but they aren't particularly known for their handling. just dont try both at once as franchise78
said. youre wallet might not like that one...
good luck with whatever you choose tho man.

I completely agree our cars are quick; my 98gt already feels 10X more sporty with just an intake and performance suspension and front/rear upper strut braces (exhaust is next!!)
