maybe someone could help me out.
fuel economy on the cav is rated at 24/33 but it's not that good...hondas have more and they're the same size. should i get a new air filter after getting worse fuel econ than the stock gm (original filter) i replaced last year?
when i bought my cav in spring 05 (2002 LS with 2.2 liter OHV and 17k) it got btwn 24 and 33 mpg. In summer 05 i got 36 mpg one time!
How much would i've gotten more with a manual? The engine is incredibly weak and it downshifts going up hills.
Replaced the air filter at 26k in fall 05. GM one out, speedy's valvoline air filter went in. Ran better, but I couldn't get higher than 33 in the summer of 06. in all fairness i get 24 when it's cold. recently i got 26 mixed driving in northeast ohio. it's not like we're in a high-elevation area.
i like the 14.1 gallon tank. better than the 11.9 on the civic i had for ages (9 years).
should i get a new air filter?
double posting = bad.

Double posting aside, I decided to get a K&N filter. I heard about the "claims" about hp gain, but its a good filter, and all you have to do is clean it out every few 30k miles.
