short ram with stock intake pipe

just wanted to know if anyone else is using the stock intake pipe without the box as a short ram or WAI, if ppl are doing this, does the filter stay on and what do you use to keep it on there?

thanks

i HAD mine that way. i had to use a 3 inch piece of exhaust tubing to keep it on there tho. but all you need is a 5 inch piece of that and a screwdriver. but yeah. it can be done

The key to an aftermarket intake is the pipe it disapates the heat better and also provides a smooth path for air instead of the stock tube that does none of the above. so if you just put a cone filter on it youll just make it louder. its all about makin it smooth.

it absolutely makes a smoother path. idunno bout all other j body's, but my intake has this great big ugly resonator thing, that makes the apth long and winding, and the pipe comming into the box is tiny. That would absolutely make it easier, smooth out the path, and provide more air.

who is this clown, all i did was ask a question about the shock intake as a WAI did i say it would be better or it would be a better option to a after market pipe, maybe someone wants to hear the engine, personally i think the after market pipes are louder (at least on my car it is)..

Dean stop smoking them tube steaks maybe shyt will stop cumming out of your mouth..
