New with a few Q's

Hi, I'm here because I'm looking for a 00-02 cavalier for a daily. Overall I want good gas mileage but I want to get some bad exhaust maybe an intake because any car I drive has gotta sound good.

First off i'm wondering what engines and trannies were available?

Witch engines are most reliable/easy to work on? (I would sacrifice performance for reliability)

Is there a "for sale" section on this site?

TIA, I’m sure I’ll have many questions in the future

I don’t know an 80 hp Honda is pretty temping.. But seriously I’ve had bad luck with foreign cars.. Yeah they get 40mpg but they always have bottom end issues.. mine always did anyway. I have a couple friends with cavaliers and they are happy with them and since I’m the one working on them they definitely pass the easy test.

And one last question, what 5 speed do they have?? I’m sure they ditched the getrag 282..

I would get the Ecotec if you can find one for a reasonable price. I do beleive that does use a getrag trans though. The 98 to 01s like I have are slow unless you build the hell out of them, but mines pretty reliable, and runs well. Somebody feel free to pipe in on this one though, I think the trans for the 95-97? had the isuzu five speed in them. The z24s always a good choice too though. As far as easy to work on... Well theres not a lot of room under the hood and at least on mine all the accessories are right by the side of the engine bay and my buddys eco is the same. The tensioner is a B!@%& to get to so just be forewarned. It does get easier though the more you do it so just like anything else I guess.

Hope this helps.
