Hey everybody,
I am completely new to these forums. But it seemed like a good place to ask this question. I have a 1996 Isuzu Hombre and 2004 Cavalier LS. I was thinking of turning the Cav into my project car and start the modding, but my truck was my first truck and I am really attached to it, but I don't know if it is worth the trouble. The motor has 180k+ miles on it and there are lots of little minor things wrong with it (windshield wipers barely work, likes to blow tail light/brake light fuse constantly, leak in the exhaust, etc. etc. etc....) and I was just wondering which one of the two YOU GUYS would throw your money into.
The Cav is still under factory warantee with around 34k miles on it and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it and even came from the dealer with 17in Motegi rims and a decent tint job.
I'm not looking for a super fast vehicle in the end, just enough to make me happy driving it around and am more into making it ride good and sound good and look good (but I still want to get decent in the performance department: bolt-ons, maybe the gm supercharger if I decide to fix up the Cavy...sometime down the road...etc.)
So once again I just want to get some outside opinions from people who don't love my truck as much as I do. I would greatly appreciate it.
pics of the both cars? i'd say to mod the one that won't break down on you. modding a vehicle that needs some maintenance is rough. you'll kick yourself for putting on new wheels when it needs a new something else. it's best to maintain both in good condition and mod only one. but that's just me.

My vote... Leave both vehicles alone.
Ive seen people mod their cars that are still under warranty and when something breaks they cant take it in for warranty work.
Then you got a car that needs work that was modded that is no longer under warranty that is still being paid off.
(im guessing your car isnt paid off, dont hold it to me)
Now unless you are your own mechanic... I guess you wouldnt have to worry about warranty too much.
I say you save up some money while you drive the cavi until the warranty is about to end.
When warranty is over, then begin modding. Take that money you saved and get a cobalt SS supercharger.
Then save the isuzu for a back up drive car.

completely wrong. the dealership has to prove that whatever you added to the car was the cause of whatever problem.

doesnt matter...its LAW that they cant refuse service unless they can prove the issue is based on a modification you have done....and it has to be real evidence, not cus thats what they assume.
and on top of that, even if they find YOU in the wrong, they can only void work on that specific part, not the whole car
and as far as why give them something to look for......well its called modding. i see you have an 03 with some mods done to it....and im sure some of those mods were done before you warranty ran out.
hell, im still under extended warranty, not that i would ever take my car in for anything...but i could depending on what the issue was
