Hey guys I'm new to the j-body group, so first of I just want to say hello and next I have a question that hopefully some one can answer for me. Well I own a 1999 Sunfire with the digital cluster, I want to find out what it would take to upgrade the cluster from the digital 1999 to the newer clusters used in the 00-02. I was told that the clusters would be plug and play deal, so I was wondering how much and what work would have to be done. One reason I am wanting to do this is my 1999 Sunfire just had all the bulbs burn out so I was like what the heck I can get a brand new 00-02 cluster for 30 bucks and it looks better. Well guys and girls thanks for your help.

*2000+ clusters cannot be swapped with 1999- clusters (this is due to the BCM).
You can switch through 96-98 if they are mechanical, and 98-99 if they are digital. Apparently these are plug and play, but sometimes you have to find a cluster from the same year as your car to work properly (this is a quote from a previous post).

check around the stickys at the top of forums.
i can prob help you with locating a z24 cluster if you want. then you can put leds in it for whatever lighting color you want.
