Suggestion for next upgrade
Monday, November 26, 2007 9:56 AM
Hi all,

Still working on my 2.2 2000 OHV I have rims. tires, Intake, spark plugs, cables, magnaflow exhaust.

KYB Struts, Stock springs, New pads, shoes and rotors

Working on front strut bar next

Just wondering on suggestions what upgrade would you consider next.

Please keep in mind I am still trying to hook this car up, with limited funds next mod I am willing to spend at least another $200-250

Thanks all

get different springs w/ the kyb struts. or save more and drop an ecotec engine in.

If your Mechanically Inclined, Roller Rockers would give you a bit more power for 200 bucks.

Also, Headers, Hi flow Cat, P&P head with 1mm+ valves, Throttle body upgrade..... There is a lot to do!

What do you look for? If you want handling more than power, front and rear sway bars are a good investment, as well as a drop (not recommend on those struts though).

You didn't mention it, so I'm guessing you don't have one...get a pacesetter header.

yeah I was thinking of getting some nice black pacesetter headers, Can anyone recommend a specific model of headers I want to make sure they fit and hoping it will go good with my magnaflow.

www.turbotechracing.com

Get the "coated" pasecetter. The painted rust bad.

Drop springs for sure. www.gravanatuning.com. No questions ask spring the extra cash for the coated Pacesetter. It'll look better and hold up a lot longer than the painted one.

A nice inexpensive up grade would be engine mount upper and lower. Also a trans mount. Can get them at turbotechracing.

Header, we only have one header. 1 Exhaust manifold=header. 2 exhaust manifolds=headers. If its not a v6, v8 or horizontally opposed 4cyl, it only has one header.

Thank you and have a nice day!

If you want to make fun of people who dont know what you do ????? ....Find a new forum to bash people in ....
If you want to make fun of people who maybe make a spelling mistake...... should we just site you as the new spellcheck prick for j body ???

Amen Brother!

I'd go with the springs and/or upper and lower motor mounts.

Springs
H I D conversion kit
it also really depends on where you want to go with this whip .... for performace or show and shine ? or both ??? lean on one side and stick with it .....
i noticed that when i started to do performance and s/s i wasnt concentrating as much as i would have if i woulda stuck to just one feild ......
shocks seems to be the best bet for your buck @ the moment since your already riding on kyb's
whichever way you choose to go ....... remeber to never half a$$ it or think that you got a deal because its No Name branded .....
its a risk that i personally wont take since i value the work that i do and is to lazy to have to do it over again beauce i cheaped out on parts ...

do the research first b 4 buying anything ........ ask 5 people on here and in person if what you want to do is logical and a good idea all together
u'd seriouly be suprised with the answers these guys come up with and the Tallent that some have is truley amazing and astonishing

none the less .... its your car and you will do what u will to it ........just remeber that your the one driving it .... not us !

Juat goes to show that some people on the org can still speak proper english!

To OP, for that much cash in hand i would look into a sawybar or drop springs like it has been stated above.

I would lower it....BUT....and this is a HUGE BUT, like cottage cheese dimpled, underwear swallowing BUT....

if those KYB's are GR2's, DO NOT LOWER IT without replacing them with something made to handle a drop like the KYB AGX's, Tokico D-Specs, or Koni Yellows. More information on that can be found in the suspension forum....
