K im all out of ideas on how to fix this so if n-e one can help that would be awesome. here my problem

i have a 2001 sunfire right now i got a short arm intake and a top strut bar now the problem is the strut bar has to be installed upside down or it wont let my hood close right. ( the strut bar is made for a 2001 sunfire) so having it upside down...the elbow from the intake that goes into the throttle and the strut bar rub...and slowly rub away the material off the intake peace and the strut bar

if anyone knows how i can stop them form rubbing please let me know..thanks.

You could try using washers and space your strut bar up just a little bit...

i had this problem. either try weebels idea (which is good if the hood will still close, otherwise loosen the clamp on your intake and try to push i down farther on the throttle body.

I've had this problem since I started, it's that Ractive strut bar....the only other way to eliminate it, go DC, RK Sport, or Vibrant for a new strut bar!!!! I told myself that's what i get for shopping on Ebay!!! Granted the short ram mod I did was pretty sweet looking! I took the second piece of pipe, cut it in half, and used the 45 degree end to go on the throttle body, then used the main piece with the filter, and placed it in the stock air box's location...I'm still trying to figure out where to put that other piece of pipe....possibly in the fenderwell if there's enough room!

use a 90 degree 4 ply intercooler hose and cut it just short enough to fit under the strut bar. make sure to get a one with long legs. this will also free up some pipe on the intake to do with what you want. just a suggestion

what i did was to go to an autopart store and buy some 3/4 inch hose, get a piece long enough for a strut bar and cut it down the middle on one side then just slide it on. It will solve the problem and usually you can get different color hoses, if your interested ill try to post a pic.
