This is a stupid question but, I'm still learning a little bit about the different types of engines and was going throught the GM Manual I have. I came across a 2.2L OHV and a 2.2L OHC and was curiuos on what the difference is between the two because the 2.3L and 2.4L are only OHC? Thanks for the help
All you could ever want to know:
Wiki GM engine list
If you are referring to the OHC vs OHV: OHC stands for overhead cam meaning that there is a single cam in the head of the engine whereas OHV stands for overhead valve meaning that the cam lobes move pushrods which in turn open and close the valves. (on the ln2/2200 the cam is located near the crank)

Those so naive, so hard headed, so narcissistic, that think that buy their own efforts can single handedly change the world, are always the ones that do.
So how do you know wheather you have an OHC or an OHV, cause i'm looking at getting some Pacesetter headers and want to make sure they will fit. Or will they fit both styles?
Yours is a 2.2L OHV. The 2.2: DOHC(ecotec) was only in certain 2002 cavys and fires and all 03-05 cavys and fires.
Thanks a bunch, i guess my girlfriend's lucky to have that 2.2 DOHC ecotec. Still jealous
OHC is SINGLE overhead cam. There was a 2.2l with one overhead cam made in the early 90s.

Scratch that, it was 2.4 and that is why it's mentioned.
