Yes every time I drive on pretty rough roads there is a noise like something is loose.Motor mounts maybe,or trans mounts. Were are they located?Im new to the j-bodys.My parents own a 1995 saturn sl1 1.9l,5-speed.and the top motor mounts broke on it but you can easily see the mount itself.Any help would be appreciated.

99% chance your strut mounts are dead. They are a very common problem on Js. Also on the 1% chance, take a good look at your springs to see if one broke.
how hard is it to change them?were are they located?

are the strut mounts located under the fender wheal above the front wheels,or under the hood.I know were the springs are!So is it just the top ones that break?do you have to remove the wheel and/or a-arms?

Take it to a shop. Suspension is not something a noob with your "experiance" should be dealing with.
open your hood and look at your strut tower. the bolts coming through the tower are part of your strut mount. in order to get them out you need to remove the wheel, remove the 2 bolts from the knuckle and the 3 nuts/bolts in the strut tower. then the whole strut assembly will pull out. from there you need a spring compressor to compress the spring or else it will shoot off when you remove the mount. tighten the compressor down and use an open end wrench and socket to remove the top nut on the strut. once thats off you simply remove the strut mount and replace with a new one. reinstall in the reverse order. once everything is back together, take your car to an alignment shop and get it aligned.
Thanks mike.I really don't have money to take it to a shop,so that is out of the question.this is my first fwd vehicle.I had a 1989 gmc sierra before this. Can I rent a spring compressor somewhere? How long does it usually take?

they can be rented for free if you have an autozone near you. you put a deposit on the item and when you return it, they give you the money back. time depends on how many your changing. for someone with no experience on doing something like this i would say about 30-45 mins per mount is what its gonna take. be sure to get an alignment though after your done.
Alright thanks.I will change them soon.
