Still looking for help!

My 1999 sunfire is acting strange still, as for the fact that the coolant light keeps coming on and off and i have checked to make sure it is full which it is, i am unsure as to the fact that there is no rad cap if we have been filling it up in the right spot, have just put it in the the coolant reservoir.

Next my gas millage seems to be a tad off or maybe its the fuel sensor going because once i hit half a tank it starts to bounce an awful lot more then i was used to with my old car i know that gas goes faster once you hit half a tank but i can never seem to figure out if i really have how much gas it says it has cause i literaly can go go on a 1/4 tank for several days

And finally i am not sure if its my starter going but it always starts sometimes it starts really ruff and kinda hesitates to start but like i said it always ends up starting.

And yes the oil has been changed about two weeks ago, although have to do it again due to the fact that we grabbed 10w30 instead of 5w30 .

Any suggestions?

For the coolant light, try replacing the sensor in the bottom of the coolant resivor and the cap. 10-30 should be just fine in your car, i'm sure it has some miles on it anyway since it's a 99.

my 2 cents.

the coolant light:

Might be an air bubble (which would get hotter then the coolant itself, giving you a false reading) if replacing the sensor doesn't work, try bleeding out all the coolant and refilling it (i know that happens on some older engines, so i assume it's possible with a '99 as well)

Gas needle:

My van does that because it uses a cheep float (so as the fuel moves as I stop or start it jumps around) but I'm quite sure the cavi comes with a digital gauge so I doubt that's it, unless someone swapped it. and before i make more guesses, when you say "bounces" do you mean speratic or kinda slow. if it's fast it might be an electrical problem. if slower, my guess would be the sending unit.

Starter:

It could be the starter. could also be the fuel injectors (fouled) could be the spark plug giving a bad spark, check the gaps. could also be a lot of other things, but those are my guesses.

just my 2 cents. (take it with a grain of salt, I don't evens own a j-body yet)

your post makes me wanna punch babies.
