So I just ran yesterday and pulled off that time.
Ran a 2.20 60 foot, which was disappointing, since I was running a slick tire, it was this little event that the track holds like every second Friday of the month called Club 1320 where all the neighborhood A-holes, come to rip up the track.
They use no water at the track, and they put the VHT on like one time at 7 pm before the gates opened at 8pm to 1am.
1st of all I ran a 22x8R15 slick and could not heat them up for nothing. There was no water in the box and my Ebrake didn't work so I couldn't get the back to stay. (They still bit a little)
I ran 1st time 18 psi in it
2nd 16, then 15 and then right around 14 or so.
Last time I ran them on 11-12, they caved in so the middle was NOT making contact and I had horrible 60 foot. I had some low 2.0's too.
So this time I was in 2.2-2.1 area.
And next time I go, I am shooting for some 2.0's or 1.9's, and bring those 13's down lower to like mid to low.
If anyone is wondering the tranny is stock, axels stock, clutch stock(lol), open differential.
With suck a small tire topped out 4th gear at the end of the track at 105 mph and 6300 rpm, when with my 205/50 R16 which is 23-24 inch tall I can hit 120 mph by the end of 4th.
It was fun.
Better times coming in a couple of weeks, low 2.0's it sounds like motor wanna come out of the chassis. lol Jerks like a mother.

Sounds like you are doing well so far.
With slicks you should have AT LEAST a 1.9 60 ft.
I am pulling 2.0 60ft on my 17" Azenis every time to the track.
I am also on completely stock driveline like you. Stock clutch, open dif, etc etc.
Disable the speed limiter go on a better night and you should be low 13's FOR SURE if you can bring those 60 ft down to a 1.8 or 1.9. MPH is looking good as well, that is good enough for a low 13. I have ran many 13.3's and 13.4's with a 104 - 105 trap.
Its right there for you! Good Luck!!
Later,
Jeff

man, i'm surprised with no water to light them up that you even managed to do that well... did you try doing a burnout without water? if you were i'm AMAZED you didn't break something... Slicks are great but if you can't get them nice and hot from a burnout you're just gonna be stuck having a bad night.. I'd have told the track officials to stop being a bunch of bitches and put some water down.

Welll....it sure has the top end...now all it needs is to hook up.
Keep trying.
See, They did spin, and they will if there is no water, I think I can damn near spin a 26 inch slick the car spins so much in the 1st.
I am going to go again, probably in a couple of weeks when I turn the boost up to like 11 or so. You could not provide your own water because they had people go through the water box and not around it sonce it was dry anywyas, so if they would have sprayed it noone would have wanted to go and everyone waould be going around it backing up the flow.
BTW, they treat the track 4-5 times a night on a Thrusday night test and tune, and on that event like one time and that's it.
I have to disable the governor anyways, because the speedo shows bogus mph making the limiter kick in.
My 1st pass was like 13.89 @92mph hitting the gov. at like 1000 foot mark with a 2.1 60 foot and from then on it just got worse.
I could hear the tires make this screeching noise even through 3rd so I know besides the better 60 foot that I could have gotten I could have a better run over all.
So much as for braking something.
I had NO wheel hop even on stock struts, I lowered the coilovers all the way in the front, and then the tire lowered the front some more, and raised up the back all the way for no weight transfer, it just had wheelspin on both tires, so that saved the diff.
If the tranny goes from being weak like that then let the mo-fo go, what can I tell you.
People say don't wheel hop it breaks axels, I didn't.
Don't peg leg it, it breaks diffs, I didn't.
Don't just drop the clutch it is bad for the clutch. I didn't.
So, I did everything right and if that thing cannot hold due to weak structual itegrity of the components, then I won't feel sorry just having the car sit in the back yard due to broken whatever.
Thanks for props guys.

I had NO wheel hop even on stock struts,
I think that slicks really help prevent wheel hop. I heard it was because of the soft sidewalls.
When I was on regular street tires, the car would wheel hop really bad at the track. I put on the slicks, and the wheel hop was gone.

What's that supposed to mean...lol
Man.. The problem is.. you are supposed to run with TWO SlickS not just one....
Just go back to the track when you get another chance... Then if they still dont lay down water.. put it down yourself... you should have gotten better 60 ft! you should of at least gotten the 1.8 that could be done with Drag Radials.
Anyways Good times, but you should really raise the boost

Damn DJ take it easy man. Slow down with the shock treatment!!!! lol Comes with the job.
Anyways, you might be right Adler.
I need to turn up the BOOOOOOOST. Screw working on the 60 foot times. lol

I would work on the 60ft first. Learn how to drive it on the boost you have now, makes it easier to adjust when at higher boost levels.

Thats right
. Screw the 60fts....1.82 was good for me. My next plan is for 25psi and launching at around 15psi on the 2 step.

CSK aka PROCOLD, why do you say that??
I mean it is the truth that I only had the motor since November. lol
For 8 months I got it down as low as this from a factory 16.0 @85 to 13.8 @ 105. lol
The only real threat is DJ and that one guy with the yellow Cavy, but he had his since 2002, and DJ and me for not that long.
DJ had his for a whole 2-3 months and already running 13.2 @113.
Again, he also has a spare motor and don't really care if he blows it up, but taking risks is what it is all about, if a FEW of us don't try out the waters (like 1
of the people on the JBO, who would the other follow??? lol
Some guys are NOT willing to try it out 1st but they won't be remembered, at least I am for the amount of swaps I did in a J.
So the fastest Eco definetelly comes from FLORIDA!!!!!!
From Josh to DJ and then ME!! lol I will beat that mother with a stick.
Adler, boooooooooooost, I already hit 11 psi on the stock motor but didn't have enough fuiel at 75 psi fuel pressure to support it so I need some bigger injectors and Adjustable FPR,(which I have) to adjust the idle pressure.
11 psi rips, I love it when motor screams, past like 5000 RPM in 3rd or 4th, you are just waiting on that '''''''''BOOOOOOM"""""" clunk clunk psssshh stal. lol

Adler's 2.2 ohv <----from the South with low 1.8 60 foots. When he starts using the 2 step, it should be down to 1.7 60 foots.

lol ya its all in the name of fun.... we arent doing this for money or anything its more of a whos braver kind of thing
and you love to see the ecos turn up the boost, why? to see us blow????
the EGT guage is overated.. i had it on the 2.4 it never told me anything useful.. just 1600+ WOT lol and like 1400 daily driving so now all i have is a boost guage/turbo timer.. no more guages
weasel is gonna get tired of updating the boards he will eventually put a top 10 on there and update it like once a month lol
