I run nitto drag radials. Depending on track conditions 15-18 psi. Also depending on which set I run. I have 2 set, one hooks better than the others.

I've been told by many to run them around 14 psi. I only aired them down to 18 psi and was pulling 2.0's. I should have listened because the guys who told me to air down to 14 were running 1.8's.

According to BFG, NEVER go below 12 psi with them...and they have found best results from 15-20 psi COLD. Psi gets higher when the tire gets warmer. I'd set them at 20 psi at home when they are cold. Make a couple runs at the track and let a pound of air out each pass. I got best results at 18 psi (checked just before each run, no longer warm to touch).
2000 Turbo Z
we had ours dropped to 14psi I think..... still couldn't hook worth a damn..... the track was pretty slick though, only ones getting good 60's where the slicked cars.

Not really. What tires did you get BFG's? They like heat. I also hear that they are there best once they get down to the last little bit of life left in them.

i talked to the BFG tire "chemist" guy dude that was on the Power Tour this year. I told him what i was running and asked for any tips. He said the first few times to the track burn them good before every pass. That meant wet boxing them for me. Get them smoking and let them melt. Then make your pass and let them sit 15-20 min. He said do that probably the first 10 runs and they would be heat cycled enough. I did that the first day I used them and when I got the FL 3 days later and took them out again to display they were still pretty sticky to the touch.
Now that they have like 30 passes on them I just barely get them smoking the first few runs to get them heated and then make my passes. After that its normally a quick dry burn to clean them off. They hook pretty good even after just the dry burns.

yeah from what BFG said the more heat cycled they get the better they grab. the guy told me that if you get them cycled enough and just right what happened to me should happen for everyone (sticky a couple days later.) even now i can go out an touch them and they got some stick to them....and i havent used them since tuesday
