I am starting to set my car up for it. Here is the list of my suspension mods so far.
Control arm bushings (RK Sport)
Sway Bars (Eibach)
Strut Tower bars (freedom design)
Gravana Coilovers
Camber plate fronts
Solid rear strut moutns (coming very soon)
Now I am wondering if I get some track lites in 17inch what tires should I get and how much camber should I run in the front. Also I will be upgrading to bear's fronta nd rear big brakes soon to.
So what do you guys think of that setup any opions will be much appreciated. Also any tips would be greatly appreciated to.

that should work i know a lot of people around here use falken tires, they are a nice soft tire that grips real well. as far as suspension, you should be pretty set it looks like. to get the best handling when lowering it make the a arms parallel to the ground, dont go lower or higher than that if you want maximum handling.
i heard the bfgoodrich tires are good too like my ta's but i have too much sidewall so i feel them roll bad
big brakes is a bad idea..... its gonna bump you up into a class where you will not have any chance of being competitive, do stock sized break upgrade. Noo ne will argue with Falken Azenis, i love my Nitto Neo Gens personally
DONT UPGRADE ANYTHING
do a season stock or where you are at so you learn how to handle the car and then upgrade items as needed. The last thing you want to do is to upgrade something that bumps you to a class you have no chance being competitive in. Learn the car then make changes. no sense in buying stuff and then changing your mind.
Purchase some good tires that are not an R compound. Get ax extra set of stock wheels for the other set of tires. Go from there

The only thing I don't already have installed is the big brakes and the tires
so do I stand a chance in any classes now?
Also does anyone know if you can adjust the camber on the rears at all?

You may do alright in STS, depending... (Street Touring)... the big brakes puts you in modified. No chance in heck.

X2
you'll do alright in STS in modified everythign will hand you your ass, you really have 0 chance.... no big brakes
but it doesnt matter, either way its fun, i was in sts. so dont use stock car. modify it how you want and race it and have fun.
your right but at the same time you know its more fun when its a good chanllenge and on top of it at the auto X speeds I dought a big brake kit will improve your times much (if any) over a basic stock sized brake upgrade. I don't knwo if any of you guys rmeber the thread way back in the day about a car that was on horse power tv or some kind of show liek that. The did a before and after dyno run with stock brakes and big brakes and it was liek a 10-15 WHP loss with the big brakes because there is so much extra weight thats now rotating mass. I don't think its worth lossing power for better brakes when your not gonna even make it out of 2nd gear most of the time, and on top of it it buts you in a class that you can't compete with cars of that caliber. Throw on osme Hawk pads and power slots and call it a day.

Words to live by.
The best upgrade you can possibly do to the car is to learn to drive better. You can have the car prepped to the exact limit of the rules, but if you are a beginer, you wont even come close to being competative the first season or two (at a large reagion event anyway) Do what you want to the car now, thats fine, (except big brakes
) but learn to drive the car first and dont change much between events. I guarantee that you will see the most improvements just participating in a few events than you will making any upgrades.
Go Go OG Traction!!
Yeah, skip the brakes. That puts you in at least Street Modified (SM). The rest of what you listed should be good for Street Touring (STS) - which is not a bad class, as it's not a horsepower class. SM is as much a HP class as it is handling.
Granted, I run in SM with my supercharger, but the stock brakes + stainless hoses + powerslots + Hawk HPS pads can overwhelm any tires I put on there anyway, so why bother with a big brake kit? (Except perhaps for bias adjustability)

Sleeper style, they don't see it coming that way.
I ran on stock suspension for 2yrs or so! I totally agree with learning your car as is first, then going from there. In your case though man you obviously can't change that. Good luck with your comps!

Coming Soon:HpTunersPro, EagleConnectingRods, WiescoPistons, 13sec2200
blowing the stock stuff and autox is also a good reason to upgrade the suspension.
Start with 2 degrees negative camber in the front and 0 toe, see how you like it.
Considering your getting trak lights your already running pretty light. For our cars you don't really need anything bigger than 16" either way run 225 width tires. Should be lots of fun.

0 toe in front? Odd...
Lightweight honDuhs can kiss my fat Crapalier a$$
A new autoX ride for '08.....
I run 0 toe. 0 toe is a good setting if you do a fair amount of driving on the street.
just be careful with those Si's in STS, they seem to have an advantage
also, anyone know if the Mini is still in our HS class?
you sure you dont mean understeer? Oversteer means the back end wants to swing out and with our cars it seems to be a lot of understeer.
that's probably what he means, but it coulda been oversteer. I was on the vda at beave run on sunday and no one could get any rear grip. plus you hit the brakes at the wrong time and you could be in all kinds of trouble..... but the course looks real different when you are looking back at the way you just came

boo yah!
thats what i'm doin with the sedan and i love it
listen to OG Nick, hes the man!!
Cavie Freak wrote:Ok so I went in and got a alignemtn finally. The camber plates maxed out at -1.0 each side. So I hope thats what you guys ment by -2 camber. Its -1 on each side and equals a total of -2
Are you using mcmoney's camber plates? If so I got -2 degrees on each side with 0 toe(I could probably take it out to 2.5-2.75 deg if I wanted to). If you start toeing out then your won't be able to get as much camber. -1 is good if you put a lot of miles on your street tires though not quite as effective on the track.
Neon rear disc swap count as modified?
