Gah! The nerve of some people... I'm working on my car late last night.... just about ready to fire up the red car and move it next door to a single enclosed garage where the half-car is being worked on... so I have the garge door open, the trailer standing on one end.. the 5 speed tranny for the swap is sitting on a dolly outside the garage, along with the fuel tank (half full of fuel still)...
I'm next door hooking up the battery, when I see some guy walk by pulling a dolly behind him... so I run over and look... and he's grabbed my transmission!!!!

So I give chase, and catch up to him half-way down the next block... I say "where do you think you're going with my transmission, buddy???" and he says he thought it was being thrown out, so he just took it...
He is DAMN lucky I didn't have the baseball bat with me.... cuz I would have hit first, asked questions later.

^LOL, sumthing similar happened to me during teh engine swap in my Z. Had my Z wheels and front Z bumper sitting outside for a little bit to walk out seeing a guy in a dodge loading up the wheels and asked him what he was doing and he just said..i thought u were throwin them away....yep throw away rims with brand new tires all the time! Lucky i saw when i did cuz he had 3 loaded up and the forth was almost there.....

Something like that happened to me. Was working on my car not too long ago (tightening up screws and the like) and I stepped into my shed to grab a few more tools and I come back outside to find an old guy picking out my sockets and grabbing a few things like wrenches and screwdrivers and looking through my car windows and stuff.
Luckily I had my pry bar in hand so he started trying to talk his way out of being caught. gave me all my stuff back and kinda jogged off. No I didn't hit him, but I was still pretty pissed. Those are my tools damnit it's not a damned garage sale. Now I just take my stuff with me.

Why would you take a tranmission not knowing what kind it is or what kind of car it fits in?
I assume he doesn't know what kind it is or what it fits in because anybody who had that kind of knowledge wouldn't pull a retarded stunt like that.
