I'm kinda short on time but need to gripe just a bit. Just got my car back together, hit a car show in town. I'm not a car show guy, not for putting my car in them anyways. But since I can't beat on the car yet, 60 miles on the swap and clutch, might as well do something with it.
Long story short I got 3rd out of 4, and there was a clean Scion which had a lot of nice engine mods and nitrous got 4th, the owner was cool as hell too. Now for what beat us... oddly enough these 2 cars are 3400 cars also, but I consider my car to have more in common with the Scion haha. Sleepers. With these next 2 cars what you see is really all that you get with the mods.
2nd place, had a decent system also, but the subs were in an unfinished box with no amp:
1st place, had a lot of red painted interior pieces! :
I do need to say both of these guys were very cool and uber in love with the mods on my 3400. Heh heh. 8)
I have to admit as I said I'm not much of a car show guy... I refuse to use tire shine, Westley's Bleche White cleans the hell out of the tires and makes them look new, my Azenis are anyways (60 miles), but I just don't like shiny tires... haha. I did have the last laugh though. At the awards ceremony the 1st thing announced and given away was a door prize drawing for Pre-Entries from the Cruise Night (which I found by accident Friday night after I took the car to town for the first time in 3 years). I ended up winning $100 cash, that thing makes my 3rd place trophy look better than the 1st place on haha. Benjamin > Trophy all day. Q&C&C are welcome as always.
edit for the last time... : I said the night before the show that I would probably help myself out a ton if I had a plaque actually talking about all of the mods to the car. A photo album would help a ton too. But, this is the 4th show I've ever been in and I've owned the car for 9 years. I think I'll live and be damn happy when I can autocross this thing and get some road course time.

looks good, one of few nicest beretta! nice swap
to me unless im missing something the 1st place grand am is stock other than a different paint job and tint. You had also mentioned that it has some painted plastic pieces inside. Not much really put into it if you ask me. Maybe thats why I never really cared for car show awards. They almost always are biased and play favorites. Good looking beretta though.
I've always loved your Beretta KFLO, used to always check it out on beretta.net. That was back in the day when I still had my Corsica.
Can you give me any more info on that upper motor mount? I see billet? and is the rest of the mount stock?
My Cardomain Page
The passenger side upper bracket? Or which one? All of my mounts are billet/urethane.
If you mean the passenger upper, it can be had from MRZ out of Canada, however, it's only for swapping a 5 speed into a 92-96 Beretta since it throws off the transaxle alignment. That bracket shifts the top of the engine back an inch to bring things back into alignment. Otherwise, I keep my registry pretty well updated.
Thanks for the comments guys!
badass, I like it alot, and im a hardcore rwd guy too

Kurt, I have always been a big fan....and you should have placed first.

Looks amazing man... was hoping to see your scion friend on there. =P
The 1st place car is disgusting imo.... just plain stupid. The 2nd place wasn't bad, not usually a fan of Grand ams kitted, but i would take it. =P
Your car would have taken numero uno if it was all about mods and you had the album. It is the nicest beretta i have seen. Bet it is fun as hell to drive too. =P
Awesome Beretta. 3400 five speed for the win. The had a nice deep exhaust tone straight out the box. What's your exhaust set-up? Stock still?
The exhaust currently has the headers going into 2.25" inch into a 2.5" catco cat, then 2.25" compression bent back to a dynomax bullet 2.25" in and out.
The tip is just a straight section of 2.25" aluminized pipe, for the sleeper effect.
Eventually the first section of 2.25" will be replaced by a 2.5" stainless flex section and a 2.5" stainless cutout then into the 2.5" cat. After that depending how it sounds I will make future decisions about the rest of the exhaust. It sounds nice and mellow at idle up to 2500, but after that it gets throaty as hell. I've got a friend who does a lot of exhaust work and he may just end up talking me into a full 2.5" mandrel when I go and have him put my stainless stuff on.
wow what a joke. stupid fn 4 door grand ams. ugh. yuck. your car is ten times the vehicle those pos's are.
but... sometimes the gaudy prevails over the clean, unfortunately.
only thing this car needs is 5% tint all the way around.
PFFT secret cams?! pm me if you want a real upgrade.
the GA and GP were both ricetastic.
My Cav
I give up...
i'm buying a VW those people love trees, so they should love eachother too... "Andy"
Lol i don't see how they were ricers? I mean the paint job is lame, but atleast he didnt paint it neon green and try to make it look like an import. And the red one is clean as hell. I don't even mind the windshield.
Because I wanted to post a new thread about my car since I just got it done, this car isn't a Jbody if you didn't notice, so it has to go in other cars.
Is that really the only reason you read this thread? Or all you have to say? Seriously, WTF dude? I bet you've never been hosed at a car show and then drove home all smiles and didn't bitch one cent's worth. I mean really? If you read how much bitching I did, it might add up to a couple sentences worth. But I know, you love car shows, so I must just have the wrong idea since I don't love them.
The cars that beat me did so because they had friends in the show that voted for them, its quite plain and simple and in that realm the amount of modifications to a car will never have any baring on the outcome of the show. So why bother? To be more on point, either way I'm done with shows because that isn't what this car is about. I built it to autocross and use for open track days.
I'll keep playing where the results are based on actual events and not opinion. It just makes more sense.
Dude A+++
im pretty sure you have the cleanest Beretta ive ever seen. I love those things, always have.
you shoulda gotten 1st outta that group for sure.
