Your 96 LD9 has a 3 wire MAP sensor.
A = ORN/ BLK [GND]
B = LT GRN [SIGNAL]
C = GRY [5V ref]
The 3 BAR MAP sensor your have described (pn 12223861) has the same pin assignments.
Mike
you're looking at the wrong sensor. the MAP sensor is on the manifold, not the intake pipe.. you're looking at the IAT sensor (intake air temperature)
yes .. im actually referring to the map sensor the on that goes to the manifold not the one on the intake .. if you see link above .. its referring to map not iat ..
my question was if i could get any 2 or 3 bar map sensor with the same connector i have .. which is a 2 plug connector .. thanks
i was given this part# 12580698 but dont know if is a 2 plug connector because dont have any pics to see the actual item .. please help ..
thanks

if you read the second reply.. the 96 LD9 has a 3 plug MAP sensor. can you take a picture and upload it so we can see what you're talking about?
guys .. this is what im referring about ..
this is the exact replica .. of my map sensor
http://www.everydayparts.com/replaces-213-334-16231423-SENSOR.aspx?n_p=53570
it has only a 2 pin connector and all others have 3 .,.
now if yo use it uses only 2 cables that goes along with the connector . thats why i was asking if i could get the same type of connector but with a 2 or 3 bars instead of 1
sorry if i didnt make myself clear previously ..
thanks ..
All the GM MAP sensors I have ever come across are 3 wire (excluding TMAPS). The pn 12580698 is a 2 BAR sensor that mates with connector pn 12129946 - that is the same connector on your 1996 LD9 (yes 3 wire!) - it is a drop in except it reads 2 BAR full scale versus your production 1 BAR.
Save some cash:
That part is used on 2004 and newer supercharged products: LSJ's, L67's, LC3's if you want to look for one in a salvage yard.

lol
thats a 3 pin connector, you can just see 2 of the pins
did you actually UNPLUG your sensor to look? I suggest you do this now.
MAP sensors don't work without a 5V reference, so they HAVE to be 3 pins.
I think we need to get past the one point:
Your LD9 MAP sensor has 3 wires?
(HINT: The only acceptable answer is yes)
BTW: The picture you posted is a GM PN 16231423. That has 3 PINS. That equals 3 wires (GND SIG 5V ref). If that is "a replica" then 12580698 is a drop in.
Mike
plop!! i could swear that i saw . only 2 cables .. . lol .. just went from my car .. and very sorry guys .. y guys were right from the beginning sorry for my ignorance .. lol 3 cables 3 CABLESS!!! me %!$%#$ .. so basically just changing the connector will work .. right ? or it will be a direct plug and play .. ?
apologize again guys .. my bad
came back from my car ****
sorry
pretty much plug and play. other than tuning of course...
