hptuners beginner

I have heard some good and bad about using hptuners. I read up on alot of stuff about tuning and it all sounds like jiberish. I just need to know if a "C" average student can figure out hptuners. I just gotta tune for some larger injectors and a 2.4 mani swap.

You won't know unless you try.

Trifecta now tunes for jbodies. I might try that also. if it sucks i"ll go hptuners. I am willing to be a test dummy for trifecta.

Lots of people on here would be willing to take your money also if you want someone to tell you your cars tuned. Myself included

if you have a good grasp on how an engine SHOULD run then you should be able to figure it out.

have a good understanding of EFI tho, or else you're wasting your money

realize to tune injectors you need a wideband kit, which coupled with HPTuners comes to a little under $1000 just for tuning equipment.
that doesn't include a laptop either.

If you decide on HPT, hit up hptuners.com/forum. They can help get you started. I'm willing to send you some base tunes to get started and try to explain what I did and why. Of course this would be used at your own risk...

well your setup would be close to mine i believe. some differences obviously but then I would just need some minor tweeking right?

Biggest thing would be the injector constant. Do that calculation based on your stock constant vs the injectors you going to use. Plug that in and go from there. If you end up with 30lb/hr injectors, you could use my tune and probably be fairly close...

HPTuners is worth every cent.
I'm new to it too but if you study and get the book by Greg Banish, "Engine Management-Advanced Tuning", you'll get a better understanding of how it all works and can then use HPT to tune your car right.
It still takes time to know everything about HPT but in time, which most of us have, we can become quite good at tuning.
Good luck with it and don't have someone else tune your ride over the mail. Invest and do it yourself.
