So ive been googling and searching everywhere.... i have the 2.2OHV (not the 2200) with CAI and full exhaust..dunno if that help...but ive read somewhere that you can change the park gap from the factory setting to get more performance or to run better...ive been reading bigger gap = bigger spark which is better performance but risking misfire.....im sure someone here has done trial and error....anyone know the optimal gap for this motor N/A?
also something ive been wondering...LN2 engine is the 2.2 OHV or the 2200?

.060 like it states on the sticker under the hood.

i have no sticker sorry...but i heard you can make it bigger or smaller for better performance, is that true?
Depends. If doing something to push a lot more air in the cylinders (i.e. boost) then you'll need to close the gap up. For something stock, or close to... I would just leave it at the factory gap.

The LN2 is the 2.2OHV which IS a 2200.
The L61 is the 2.2 DOHC Ecotec.

You did not read this correctly.... To the OP, LN2 is the RPO code for both the 2.2 OHV and the 2200....
P&P Tuning
420.5whp / 359.8wtq
thanks about the Gap thing....and so im guessing LN2 is both 2.2OHV and 2200...but the 2200 is the 2.2OHV but built better(correct me if i'm wrong)...L61 is 2.2 ecotec, LD9 is 2.4 twin cam which ive had bad experiences with

I wouldn't say the 2200 is built better. It's just a redesigned version of the 2.2 OHV.

The 2200 engine and the 2.2 ohv aren't the same. Just wanted to pipe in with that.
Pre-1998 engines are the ones known as the 2.2L. In 1998 the engine underwent some changes (a reduction in horsepower and torque) , and the intake was moved. '98 to '03's are known as the 2200's. Either way, I'm sure this has damn near nothing to do with spark plug gap.

In 93 the 2.2 underwent some changes from the previous year (increase in horsepower and torque) and the intake was changed. Does that mean the 92 wasn't a 2.2?

I'm just saying, post '98 2.2's are called 2200's. It's even on the damn valve cover. You asked, I delivered. No reason to be snarky.
Yeah... it's the same engine. Doesn't matter if you think otherwise.

No, it's not. Doesn't matter if you think otherwise.
Let's just agree you think I'm wrong, and I think you are. I'm not gonna get into a pissing contest over this.

No theyre not. The cams are very different. The coolant flows the opposite directions the pistons and cranks are different. The intake is totally different. Cylinder head is different. Rockers are different. Etc etc etc.
I'm fully aware of all the differences. Hell even the 2.2 took changes over the years, but yet it stayed the same engine.

The block is the same. The head isn't. If you are fully aware of the differences, then your also fully aware that it's not the same.
