well as the tytle says, how hard do you guys think it'll be to install a set of VDI lambo door kit on my sunbird? I have the body kit and fenders and spoiler sitting in my bedroom right now, and now i'm planing on installing a kit that'll fit a sunfire. Do you guys think it'll fit and work with some modifactions? i'm sure, but i just want some ideas and comments. And no i won't be mad if i get the "waste of time" comment, i get it all the time.

Our doors arent made the same as 3rd gen doors, so they dont make bolt-on kits for us...

i know it won't be a direct bolt on kit, thats why it'll need some work to make it fit.
your pretty much gonna be making custom hinges either way, so maybe you can rig somethign up cheaper then buying the sunfire lambo kit
is there any one on here with lambo door on a Sunbird or Cavy? Cause i really want to do this, and would like some more info on this, I want one killer bird by summer and i think that the doors will finish it off.

i'm getting my 3rd gen hinges on weds. so i hope by the end of the month i should be able to offer some help.
there are only 3 2nd gens i know of with lambos. 1 phase 1 vert has custom hinges, 1 phase 2 coupe has universal hinges that was done by a shop, and then there is a phase 2 coupe and he custom made hinges too but he doesn't have shocks that hold the doors open.

hmm, well i won't be installing them myself, i have a very good body shop here just outside of Winnipeg and i've been talking to the guy there for awhile now and he's going to install the body kit, fenders, spoiler, underglow, and the door kit if i can find one for him to install. He's one of the best in Winnipeg, i know he can do a wicked job, i would just like more info on it and would like to find the best kit for the car.
girlRacer, if you could e-mail me or post something when you do your doors, that would be wicked. I hope that your doors go smothly so that way i know i won't be paying head over heals for shop time.
This guy is an amazing Body guy and my work (piston Ring) does buisness with him (we deliver parts to him) and he's a really good guy, and his dad also comes in and buys parts from us, really good family run buisness and he even owns his own Pro Mod race car that runs in the IHRA. The body shop just helps pay for the race car
I've had alot of people say he's the best but you'll pay for the best, and he'll make my car a show stoper if i gave him the money for it, but i can't afford that much
But i do know he'll do the best job around.

i got the 3rd gen cavy kit by chin wah, its from redrum customs. got it off of ebay for $540.

nice, is the VDI kit more or less the same kit? cause i can get the kit for cheaper than normal. what i'm saying is, is it the same kit only a different maker? or a totally different style kit?
i don't know how different the kits are, since i've never really seen a kit in person. i heard a lot of good comments about redrum and the chin wah kit from here, so thats why i went that route.

BTW, what hood do you have? is the the FX desighns hood? or something else?
my hood is the class, glass, and performance carbon fiber hood. its very rare, i only know of one other person to have the cf version. if your looking for a cf hood than JSP just came out with a cf vader style hood for 2nd gens with hopes of an oem style z24 cf hood.
i'll take some pics when i get my hinges, i should have them up by this evening.
