Has anyone tried to make the hinges themselves? All it would take is the measurements and dimensions from a good kit and a reputable machinist could make their own hinges. The shocks on the other hand i guess youd have to purchase, but how expensive could they be? Not a thousand bux i hope? I guess im juss wondering if anyone out there has the blueprints on some, or has made their own.

Its soo not worth it. There is a gp for them going on right now. 475 shipped. Just get those. Its not worth all the headaches and trouble that you would need to go through.
theres alot more to it then just measuring it. the joint at where it connects is very complex. ive seen one person on here that has done it. thats saying alot considering the amout of people that have lambo doors. they all thought they could make them. its not easy

i just installed the before mentiond GP lambo doors. definately worth it!! easy install, very sturdy... very much recomended

Bob Mull used to have a really industrial door hinge to make his doors swing up kinda like butterfly wings... but from what i remember it took like 2 or 3 people to open the doors up, and required a prop rod to hold the door up.
just wish i could tell the door conversion i plan to do, only prob is whether ill have the time, hope to get it done, if so i gurantee it will turn more heads then the lambos this summer, wish me luck, later

ROFL....i remember that. it DEF didnt look like it belonged on a show car like that. correct me if im wrong, but couldnt you see the hinge from the outside and it left a gap when the door was shut?
