Painting turn signal/headlight housing

I saw someone did this.. not sure who did it or where I've seen it, but it loked amazing, so props to whoever did it....

Anyways, I liked the idea of removing the reflector from inside the turn signal of my 01, and I saw someone took it one step further, and also painted the inside chrome flat black..

I thought that looked sick.

I've been thinking about buying a pair of headlight covers, but instead, could I paint the chrome inside the headlight, and still be "legal"?

Natually, black isn't nearly as reflective as the chrome is, but has anyone tried this?

I'd like to paint the inside of the turn signal, AND the inside of the headlight.

Thanks in advance....

Brandon

IF YOU PAINT THE STOCK HEADLIGHT YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO DRIVE THAT WELL AT NIGHT. GET SOME PROJECTORS AND GET THEM PAINTED.

Screw you guys, I'm goin' home

Would painting the reflective housing kill the light THAT much???

Yep. Your brights would be just about as dim as your DRL's in the daytime. I did it to my cav last year....Very big mistake. I ended up buying new housing from someone on the org.

Well the best mistakes to learn from are the ones you make yourself..

I know from experience lol.

But I still want that blacked out look, so it's time to look into some projector lenses like buddyclub2cav said originally said.

Thanks all.
