I recently purchased headlight covers for my J-Body and was warned by friends that they're not good for night driving...they say 'street legal' on the box, so I assume they have to be. But I don't want to install them if someone on here tells me out of past experience they're garbage, then I'd be able to return them without hassle.
Thanks.
For one, they will limit the light that goes through.
And even if the box says "street legal", they still can be in your state. Im sure theres fine print somewhere explaing to check with your local laws. Same with Hyper white headlights, they say street legal, but then in fine print on the bottom it says 'for offroad and display us only, check local laws before using in public'.
So ya... check your local laws
lol

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll probably just return them.
Not sure if it makes a difference, but it's a '97 Sunfire GT, and they're black headlight covers. I've seen a few guys around town with them on and I liked how they looked, so I thought I'd try them. Luckily I asked here before I put them on.
Thanks again.
wut if u buy the light covers and then get the super light bulbs, whatever theyre called, would that help out
I have a smoked set for my Sunfire too and they do look pretty good. I drive with mine on at night sometimes, but they cut out a lot of light. If you're driving in the city they would be fine but if you're out in the country I'd just take them off after dark. It's not like once you put them on, they're on there forever.
