body kit installation-rear bumper

Yes, I have searched, without much luck.
I just purchased a drift kit with a blitz front, and on attempting to install the rear bumper, I find that the crush-guard appears to be to big. For those of you that have installed a drift rear on an 00-02 cavy, what did you do to make the rear fit properly? cut the crush-guard down, or remove it all together?

I also want to be able to reinstall the stock bumpers if I ever sell the car.

Thanks in advance

just rip the crush bumper off, most bodykits fit better and it also allows your bumper more room to adjust and shift if you ever push it or bump anything.

4 months in Korea = 17" rims
4 months in Iraq = Bodykit
Not having mommy and daddy pay for everything = priceless

Any issues with sag in the middle of the rear? What about going back to stock in the future, I noticed the crush guard is rivited in, and the stock bumper has a lip that wraps around the top of the crush-guard, will that matter later?

dont take it off. it helps take the blow of an impact if you get hit in the rear. just trim it down til the bumper fits snug. yes your rear will sag. every drift rear sags. go to home depot and get some L brackets. mount them to the bumper support (the metal bar that the crush guard is attached to) so that they stick out. then just put the bumper on have the middle will rest on the L brackets and pull it up so there will be no sag.

^^^ Oddly enough, I have trimmed the #### thing as far down as I feel comfortable without yanking the whole crush-guard. (remember... I want the option of returning to stock if needed) The freakin' rear bumper just doesn't seem quite right. I have trimmed the top of the crush guard down a little, and took it in a few layers, and the sides of the bumper still angle downward. when I try to lift them up to where they should be, it feels like the bumper is going to crack, and I can't get them all the way to the stock position.

Any ideas?

I'll try to get pics tomorrow depending on the weather here. I have shaved a crap-load of rubber off of the thing.....
I would get you pics tonight, but I already put the stock rear back on, as I have to go to class and work tomorrow.
So is the only advantage to having the crush-guard on at all just in the case of an accident?

Crush Panel, Crush bumper, rubber thing, that thing that is giving me h3L!, it's all the same to me, all I know is that the ENERGY ABSORBER is giving me a bunch of grief...

Anyone interested in a trade... full drift kit (Blitz front) for a full LS lip or wings west lip kit?

if you just pull it out you might destroy you kit if you hit something its to protect from like 5mph hits and such

Yes, I understand that, but I also am under the impression that fiberglass really wont withstand much of an impact anyways.

To all that replied, thanks... but I have given up on the idea of kitting the car... and am selling the kit. I might just go for some more performance stuff instead.

its a fiberglass kit. even w/ it there, its still going to crush in a 1-5mph low impact hit. thats the joys of having a fiberglass kit.

I had a body man help me do the drift rear. We took the black plastic off the metal. Screwed a metal strip onto my car body in middle. Cut a \/ in my kit, too much tension like yours, and is gonna re-glasss over this.
