Two questions:
If you have an HID kit on and sometime the HID's come on for no reason what could be a problem?
Also if someone was installing and HID kit and you have to install it. Now when you install in it does not work but if you switch around the wire on the headlight it works but the HID will not turn off can some one please explain?
Thanks.

bad headlight arm switch or bad ballasts.
reverse grounding - a feature on all jbodies. 12v is always constant, while the ground is switched (for the headlights). you need to use a relay to get it to work.

lol i used to have the whole write up i made with the help of viper... but now i just have the picture
Ok i see the diagram do what goes to what now,. Is that postive from the battery. I have a 95-99 to i just have a single bulb for the low beam.and the ground for the ballast is going where. 85 and 86 is going where. You don't use your existng wire from your headlights. I am confused.

and yea, like viper said, on the j's its reverse grounded, so pretty much it supplies ground to turn it on..its got a constant 12v... thats why if you just do the plug an play style you gotta put it on backwards...ill try an do a write up quickly now just by lookin at the diagram lol...
keep in mind the diagram is for 9007 application, its same thing just dont need to have the wire from the highbeam on the socket connected also...since its not their on 9005/9006 setups...
Ok we start off by.... gettin a 12guage wire from the battery to the 87 terminal on the relay with a 30amp in line fuse in between... then you have the stock bulb socket (you only need to use one you can just tape up the other one an hide it) you take the ground from that socket and put it to the 85 terminal on the relay... now on 9007 since its high and low beam...you take both of those and go to the 86 terminal on the relay...if it was 9005/9006 you would just take whichever wire an put it to the 86... now you take the 30 terminal and get two wires off of that, one to each Hot side of the ballast (12v) then you ground both your ballast, either to the battery or just screw em in, since most ballast are self grounding, and voila you should 99% have fully operating and properly operating hid's...
the existing headlight socket will be used to turn the relay on, an the wire from the battery is what will actually be powering your lights...
thanks for the write up paul.

Ok i went back to what i have and swapped around kits on either side. Now i think the source of my problem may be from the drivers side wiring i believe. The passenger side comes on fine but the driver side kind of flickers and wont come on. I have to start the car and after about 3 tries it comes on. I have swapped both side and still the same issue so it is not the Kit.
Also i have and extra HID kit for sale.
