Junkyard scavengers..............

If anyone is out and about looking thru sal\vage yards can you look to see if there are any Pontiac G6s? Im looking for the 4-panel retractable sunroof that comes on the GTs, I believe. I found a rolled one somewhere in the NE part of the country, emailed them but the damm hotmail delivery failure message and forgot what the website was.

Have you tried http://www.car-part.com? It has junkyards from all over the country and you can e-mail them. Hope that helps.

Already looked into it, Its a $1500 option on the G6.

And good luck finding one in a junkyard, Not many G6's have died yet.

Also, on my 4 door sunfire, the G6 sunroof, is an 1.50" too long, and the slight curve of the glass doesnt look good in comparision to my sunfire roof. Although easily fixable, at this current time for me, atleast, its too expensive to do the modification neccessary.

Well the bodyshop my car is at can do wonders with reshaping metal. The curve doesnt really matter either, it would alway be in the open position since I wont be driving the car in the rain.

The Panoramic sunroof is very nice. My wife has the G6 Gt and the whole damn roof opens up. No problems with it. If I see or hear of any in the yards I'll let you know.......

If Alero taillights/RSX headlights aren't too big, neither is this sunroof!

lol, the G6 has a longer roof then a cavy or sunfire, and alero taillights are huge, But there is room to make them fit. In order to make a roof longer, takes quite a bit more work.

Wouldn't the sunroof on a rolled one be smashed?

Actually it looked intact. The door frame was all @!#$ed up though and most of the hood and side of the car.

Z2flip4, I live in south carolina and there is alot of junkyards down here plus I work at a chevy, GM dealership, I have seen one g6 t boned but if you tell me what all you need for the sun roof I will see what I can do and if new is the only way to go then I can see what I could get it for, with my discount. Oh by the way I cant wait to see some photos of your car I have been sooo eager, you keep bringing unheard of goods that keep the community interested. Later man

The car wont be done for a while. Its coming back home. Im not too pleased with the bodyshop, theyve had it 10 months and the exterior is barely done. I emalied them and told them what I want finished and Ill be trailering the car home in about a month. Ill be fiberglassing the entire interior and also the underhood and undertrunk inserts. Hopefully I can find someone to rewire the car this winter and then find someone who can pull of my paintjob idea.

As for the G6 sunroof, I believe they talked to Schram Auto about getting one, same place I got the Cavalier Technic hood from.
