Recently ordered mine, and just wondered if anyone mounted theirs using a different technique than the supplied adhesive? Also curious on anyone's experiences with removing this piece-- was it difficult? did it get damaged? trunk damage?
Any experiences shared would be greatly appreciated...
i took my stock one off my 04 over the weekend ... there are about 12 1/2" nuts you'll have to remove using a deep socket. there's silicone sealant around all the nuts. after that, it just pulls out.
I don't know about the RKSport bezel, i'm thinking about getting one too...

i have one and when i removed it it cracked a few times which sucks but whatever. if your not planning on taking it off then use the stuff they send its great. but if your gonna take it off i would just wait to put it on.
Streaker... I'm not planning on taking it off anywhere in the near future, I bought the car brand new and have only had it a little over a year now... however I was just (as usual) thinking farther down the road should I ever choose to trade it in or resell it. That's why I wanted to inquire to see if anyone had installed it in another way than using the supplied adhesive. Sucks that yours cracked, that's what I was afraid would happen.
looks good bleco, did you install it with the adhesive??
i used their adhesive, just cleaned the trunk lid with goo gone, i would assume that removing it if oyu ever chose too could be doen the same way as removing side moulding just use some fishing line and carefully work it off, its not a very wide line of adhesive on there.
I bought mine in 03 when it first came out, and i used their adhesive. I have yet to have a problem with it. I don't know how carbon fiber is, but to remove it i would guess you would use a heat gun and remove it just like you would wih a decal. Its just an idea, mine is still on my car and i haven't removed it, but thats what i would do to romove it, unless told otherwise. Also to romove adhesive if you do not have goo gone, WD-40 works just as well and does not damage the paint.

Thanks guys for the responses... sounds like the included adhesive works great, and should I ever choose to take it off, you're probably right... working it off with fishing line like you would the moldings will probably do the trick. Just waiting for the UPS man to arrive now...
To bring this back from the dead... When i took out my capet and spare tire i found a lot of water in tire well. I think it might be comming from either the bezel or from the little flange thing on the passanger side.
anyone else have this problem? possable fixes?
There is no damage anywhere so i dont think it has been there long. just kinda made me mad.

just a little warning... my revrse light housing were gfilling up with water using stock 02 tails, I pulled the light out and sealed the edge where the light sits against with some silicone, worked great
Darkstars... I was just going to ask a question about that, I have TYC's on and noticed that the driver's side reverse light is taking in some water and fogging up. I was planning on re-sealing the gasket with something stronger to see if that solves the problem. I haven't had any problems with water leaking into my trunk though, just in the reverse light itself.
