Black Body Kit

I am considering buying a body kit for my 96 Cavalier.

I was thinking about painting it black insted of my car color (Metalic Auqa).... any thoughs on what would look best? My car already has black flames, stripe, and spolier.... was thinking about contining the trend of aqua/black

maybe if you have pics of your car and what kit your going to get it might help. if anything i say atleast follow the lines of the front and rear bumper and bring it across the doors to make a 2 tone paint job like adam did (njhk)

are you saying the stripe and the wing is black too?

return it to this state (minus the hub caps) and if you get a kit you can paint it black but just make sure you follow the lines of the bumpers to bring it across the doors to make it a 2 tone paint job and it will look pretty good

At first I was like "who the hell would drive that?!" then I say that he's only 16. Maybe we have another Bomex here.

i hope we dont get you down kid. its just constructive criticism. we are trying to help you out a bit. i say the stripe aint that bad, but it would be better if it followed all the way down to the end of the hood and trunk. The wing and the flames shuld be kicked off the car. maybe you would want to pick up some black taillights or just open those up and spray them black to go along with your body kit idea.

I will admit that the Wing on the back does look a little out of place. What kind would you suggest for it then (link if possibal). And would it look good black?

A biggie for me is getting stuff painted because I have a very limited budget. I am saving up for a Catback Exhaust atm.

Do you taste like barbaque?

As for my oppinion, stay the hell away from spray paint. Spray can paint is not meant to be used on the Exterior of your car. And can you see out your rear window?

i think the stock spoiler would look alright. try and get a 00-02 spoiler, it would probably look alright. if you find one in black you can see how you like it, or later on paint it to match your color.

I did not use just regular spray paint on the bumpers and yes, I can see out the window... notice the split in the spolier....

Thanks for being helpfull ShiftyCav and ßãggéÐÇåv98, will check that out

How about this? Would just need to get it painted black. And btw, I dont want to paint it my base color because it is so faded and I cant afford to get the entier car repainted... if I could I would get the car painted black

its an alright wing. but maybe you would like to see how it looks on your car before you buy it. it might be too long and hang off the sides and you might not like it. if you can find a cav with it on and you like how it looks, then go ahead and buy it.

one thing that doesnt look good is trying to make a accent color work all over the car. (ie. your car is green and you have black everything) it doesnt go well and it looks all out of place and too much.

suggestion that was told to me... "Stay to one color as much as possible, if needed go to two tone, but god damn NEVER GO THREE TONED!!" what this means is try to stay to one color, but if you like to get a two toned look stay to just two! the crome tails and hub caps dont and will really never go with a black and green car (unless you have an extreme art witch most dont!).

I would definitely lose the Spoiler. With Aqua, I think that a Black Body Kit would work with it. I would try getting the side skirts done first and seeing what it looked like. But if you are going to do that, I would tak the Black up higher on the car as well, that way it would all blend better. Just my .02. 8)
