I am looking to get rid of the yellowish light that the stockers shine, and I wanted bulbs that were clear and bright, but I know some of the cheaper bulbs will actually get rid of the yellowing but I actually want that little bit of blue tint that you see on more expensive cars.
What are the cheapest off the shelf (or website) bulbs to produce such a light?
Sylvania Silverstars.....super bright white. IMO the best you can buy.
I have Silverstars in mine and they rock. Great visibility in the snow, rain, etc. They shine and bright, clear white. Definatly go for those. They'll run you about $40 though, but they are well worth it for replacing stock.
I had silverstar headlights werent as good as everyone makes them......... after replacing them several times i got fed up and got some cool blues and basic silvania fog bulbs and been fine for the past month so far without having to replace them

boost will be soon for me....
If you want silverstars go on ebay I got a set of silverstars for my 05 brand new for $25 shipped. ebay rocks.
PIAA's get my vote
I've had both(currently have 1 piaa and 1 SS actually) and the piaa is a bit brigther, but it also costs a fair bit more. Either one is a good choice though
sylvania silverstars, definitely, i put them on my 99 sunfire after i tinted(lightly) the headlights, still superbright, well worth the money IMO.
yup silverstars hands down. i will never get anything else except hids. the light output w/ those bulbs is awesome
my cool blues are great. same basic bulb design as the silver stars, except the silver star has a little bit larger fillement, therefor brighter.
my cool blues are bright and clear, and about half price of the silverstars. i bought them a few weeks before the silverstars came out, and i wish i would have known cause i would have waited and picked the ss's up. i dont regret buying my cool blues, but i do like the fact that the ss's are slightly brighter.
i have the coolblues on in my sig, and they are bright and white, which is what they are designed to do. i currently have philips weatherwise?? or something like that in my highs/DRL's. i picked them up cheap. 65W instaed of the stock 60W of the original highs in my cavalier.
honestly, the coolblues are bright. not so bright that you blind everyone, but bright enough that when you are out on a dark road, especially by yourself, that they light up everything.
ss's will run about $50 for both, my cool blues ran about $25 - 30 CDN for both.
ive hear of the GE Nighthawks, but dont know much about them. they look like the silverstars.
Injection is nice but id rather be BLOWN!

damn my poor spelling, aple.....(able) wtf is that lol
just get projector headlights, they are bright no matter what, or do like I did and have projection headlights with hid bulbs, you blind every1 coming the opposite way. But things happen you know... (and if you want to spend $600 just for lighting, but its worth it to me, it is like daylight when I drive.)

if you have projector headlights. then you shouldnt be blinding people....
i agree. those who don't like Silverstars are looking for a bluer light which is not the best light out put to make it that color. They look good but don't give as much light. I had Silverstart and another bulb in my wifes car and you could tell the silverstars although not the color people want were much brighter.
