żOldschool Testarossa style?
Friday, August 11, 2006 4:41 PM
Hi guys. I've been reading through ALOT of posts and finding almost everything I've had a question about. Lately the search button has been my bestest of friends. lol. I've been having all these ideas and concepts running through my head as of late. I'm hoping that someone could point me in the right direction for one of them. I'm trying to find a pair of the oldschool Testarossa side/door vents?skins?panels? Not exactly sure what they'de be called, but I'm pretty sure everyone knows what I mean. Most of us I'm sure had atleast THAT HotWheels car in red or black when we were younger. lol. I remember years back you could order them through minitruckin magazine, but that was along time ago. They don't seem to carry them anymore. Could anyone point me in the right direction? It would save me alot of time fabricating my widebody. Thank you everyone who reads this

Thanks Homunculus[6(sic)6] I checked Erebuni and Razzi. At Razzi I dont even know where to look but at Erebuni I'm thinking that it was most likely them that made them, but unfortunatly don't make them anymore. I'll keep looking. BoltZ22 its not sideskirts that im lookin for. Im actualy looking for the vents that run down the sides and over the the doors of the Testarossa. These are not vehicle specific parts. These are actualy universal parts that are molded to the body similar to hood scoops, side vents or even some z3 vents for fenders. I like the look. Others maynot, but.... It's my car.

Heres a pic incase your not sure what i meant. Thanks guys, sofar no good but I'll keep looking else I'll have to glass them myself. Though I'd rather not. lol

Well..../sigh. Doesn't look like I'll be ordering those anytime soon. Discontinued in 2000? OUCH!! Be faster to glass them then to search for them. Looks like I've got alot of work ahead of me on this one. Oh well. I can make the fins deeper and pass through this way anyway. =] Theres always an upside.

look into Fiero to testerossa conversions.... you could cut up the kit they give you for the look-a-like conversations

HAH!!11

I saw the testerossa kit being sold by Keystone automotive (I think) at one time for cav's!

These three companies pop into my head for some reason:

Keystone
GTO
O.E.M factory body panel replacements and add-ons (I think Keystone actually did this for them)

Whoever makes those universal stick-on hood scoops, head and tailight covers, etc should have them! Lmao, didn't RkSport have a car advertised like that at one point back in the late 90's to '00?

Well cars headin to the shop to have a new top installed.. (Damn kids with knives and nothing else to to but destroy my car)......Then later on I'll be visiting fam in NewYork that are coming down Arkansas to visit. I'll prob start work on the molds and measurments when i get back. Thanks for everything guys, but I've decided that I'll just make them myself. Easier to get exactly what i want that way. You know. Now to figure out if I wanna repaint her the stock red, or a different tone. lol I'm stickin with Red. Just not sure which. haha
Night guys.

Hey H.G.E.

I contacted some of my old Minitruckin days buddies to see if I can't hunt down a kit for you. Give me a few days and we'll see if there are any left out there.

I actually looked into this for my Cavalier about 3 years ago and found who had the molds....but I've forgotten who they are.

I'll find them again, no worries.

White Raven your the man. =) hope your search comes out better then mine. I don't know why, but to me I just think that the way the Sunfires body is designed towards the rear. You know how it kindda widendsand bubbles out around the rear fenders and back. It just almost seems like Those vents build into widebody would be perfect for the car. Maybe its just me but. lol I dunno. It's just haunting me lol. I can practicaly visualize in my head exactly what I what the body to look like. I just gotta do you. You know.

Yeah. I found alot of those moldings during my search. Same style. Different idea. Thanks tho. =)I'm actualy kindda looking forward to glassing these up now. lol. My step brother is going to school for automechanics and i see this as a good opportunity to teach him alittle bit about body work.Give him a bit of a headstart if they plan on teaching him anything of the sort in school. Teach him as we go along and MAYBE, just MAYBE, he wont always need me when he needs work on his car . lol
I'll still help him ofcourse but hopefully he'll learn how to do some of it himself. (he's probably gonna want me to make him a WB too when were done) HAHA
