I always see them molded onto Sunfire hoods but not cavies, is there a legit reason why?
First off, not sure how any reason wouldn't be legit, but whatever.
The main reason that more Sunfires have eyelids molded is because the headlights just don't look mean enough stock. The eyelids take care of that. More people are satisfied with the way Cavalier headlights look without modification. That and they just don't look as good IMO. Plus, if you mold eyelids on Cavaliers, they spontaneously combust.

with the shape of the opening on the sunfire lights its easy to make it look good.... on cavis not so much

Yeah, we were going to do them but I didn't want to have to "hoove" them up like Meckster had to. And there's really no way around it. PLUS is covers quite a bit of the headlight and I was worried about losing headlight brightness (a paranoia of mine ever since my accident). Meckster said he didn't really notice any, tho.
I can't think of any 95-99 cavs that have eyelids, tho......

It's just rarely been done right, because it's hard to make them look good. End of story.

I would think the owner not wanting to is a legit reason
I'm just messing with ya. It looks good when it's done right. Look up the member ScreamSayonara. His sig has a tooned cav front with projectors and eyelids that would look kickass if done right.
it is due to all the reasons above plus.. cavalier headlights don't all fit perfect. If eyelids were made on the hoods, some may not fit right and cause issues. I guess sunfire headlights all fit pretty close to the same. But people could just take out the spacers under the headlight brackets for cavaliers and it would fit ok i would think. but oh well.
