hey guys im trying to polish my HO intake manifold...im kinda havin a tough time with it(ofcourse)
i used my grinder and some course gasket remover pads to buff the ruffness out of it...the pads work pretty well, eexcept for the fact that theres only so many places a 2" pad can get to...i tried using some dremel bits with no success...they either dont work good enough or wear out after a square inch of work..and i dont wanna take my carbine bit to it...anybody have any suggestions on what to use so i can get down to using sandpaper grits?? my biggest problem is getting inbetween the runners...anyone on here done this yet?

Well I didn't polish my HO intake manifold on my 95 2.3, but I did prep it for paint really well. If you are using it for a 2.4 you can take all the rasied parts off each runner. For in the runners I used a belt sander belt that I cut and worked it back and forth to round each runner. This is the only thing I can say for shaping them, but the dremel will take you the rest of the way. I'm doing some of the work before I send my one out for my 2.4 I'm building. After the Direct port is done on it I'm sending it out to be fully polished for a local company. I hope that helps.
