well.... i got mine!
ive had them for about 2 weeks or less now, and i am pretty impressed with them. josh was very quick with the shipping of these. took maybe 2 weeks to get here to toronto from california, and that was with the holiday rush that the postal system gets too.
the best part about it, it was like a christmas gift to me from josh. got them before christmas and everything, was only missing a bow.
anyways, im in the process of can coating them, did about 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of paint yesterday. i was worried the primer wasnt going to stick without me scuffing them because they were so bloody smooth, but it seems to have held on ok.
i dont know if its the way my hood sits, but the part of the light that gets covered by the hood is still partially visable, so i am using red vynil tape to cover that up so it isnt noticable. i havent tried to physically mount them yet, but everything seems like it might go on good.
i will be posting up pics as soon as i take them, camera was at my girlfriends house last night.
i did shave the top little nub off of my headlight though so that way the lights would fit nice and flush to the housing. jsut used my dremel tool with a cut off disc to cut it off, then grinded it down with a grinding stone bit, and then polished it up with a wool polishing bit and a little bit of eagle one spray wax as you dry. came out alright, one side was really good, other side, was ok. can only see the imperfections of it in certain light.
just curious if anyone else has purchased these from josh yet and what everyone thinks so far. i remember some one saying that they used a small screw and drilled it into the top of the housing under the hood to secure it better, aswell as using mounting tape. just wanted to see pics of anyone else's that might be mounted to get some ideas.
once again, thanks josh. so far so good, i would definatley buy your products again.

thats cool and all but these are bootlegs not the real things but hey thats cool.
SHOCKWAVE IS BACK
ya i remember seeing your picks greencavi. josh was going to send me a set of the 95-99 to test fit before, but when he found out i was in canada, it wouldnt have been speedy enough to have me test fit them in time for them to be in production for when he wanted it to be.
oh, and i forgot to thank the makers of dupli-colour for making a spray paint that matches the colour of my car
when i go home today i plan on taking some pictures of them, and i can finally see how close the colour match is in daylight. last night the colour looked spot on.
do yours sit perfectly flush on the light housing or are they lifted a bit in the front? i just dont want to try and get them to sit perfectly flush when they arent ment to be and end up snapping the fiber glass. the good thing i like about these is i can reuse them.
when i was buying my paint yesterday from the parts store i go to, they asked me why i needed the paint and i told them. then they asked why i didnt just make my own out of vynil. there are 2 reasons... one, if i made them they would look like crap. two, i can pull these off and aslong as i dont break them i can mount them back up.
im using the same double sided mounting tape for mine, like the one you use to reattach side moldings and stuff.

Mine are lifted a little due to that little nipple at the top but Im not even worried about it, but yeah get some pics up
well i shaved the nipple off last night with my dremel like i said above.
im hoping that they sit more flush and ive held them down like that before and it seemed like it would fit, now it just depends how sticky that mounting tape is.
you cant even really see where i shaved them off, plus its going to be covered up by the eyebrow anyways. i was tld that those housings are for a machiene that attaches to the headlight to get the aiming angle right. personally, i just aim mine the normal way, by hand.

THE HATED ONE wrote:thats cool and all but these are bootlegs not the real things but hey thats cool.
please stop with this already. these are NOT bootlegs! bootlegs would be trying to pass them off as the real thing. bootlegs would be if you were to, oh lets say, make a mold of a real set of TRD eyelids and sell them. such as when you said the following in your own thread:
THE HATED ONE wrote:whitecavy - no but here is the deal we have a mold made from one of the sets and will mostly do a few CF later on when we do our next Toyota Cavalier.
i remember back when i had my biz and sold this style of eyelids, every post myself or a customer made about them you would always chime in mouthing about how they "werent real TRD eyelids" and how you would "have real TRD eyelids for sale soon". for real, get over it. these are not direct replicas of the TRD eyelids nor do they claim to be. you provide your own product: authentic, albeit used, JDM parts. thats cool stick with it. but if another business has a similar product you shouldnt constantly piss on it, especially if they were available BEFORE your used products were.
youre a smart guy and you shouldnt have to be schooled in either business protocol or proper forum etiquette, but heres a quick recap for ya just in case:
1--respect other businesses, especially the good ones. the J community has had more than our fair share of rip offs in the past...dont ruin it for the few good guys out there
2--dont piss on another biz's thread because you offer a similar product. let josh show his stuff and you show yours and let the customers decide.
3--grow up and stop whining everytime eyelids are brought up. you offer fiberglass only 95-99 lids. josh has glass or carbon lids for the 95-99s AND 00-02s.
4--realize that you guys provide completely different niches in the J scene and that this is the ONLY product that overlaps. get over it.
get mad at me all you want but this is just ridiculous. youre both good guys with good companies. instead of fighting you should be working together to further our scene and community.
Check out my CARDOMAIN page
Well I just wanted to say that I for one don't like them. I don't know if it cause they are not layin' flat cause you didn't trim off that nipple or what, but the inner side where they start seems to thin to me, and in the middle just seems to big. Again seeing these with that nipple trimed might be the key to makin' them look better, but they don't fit right on the headlights I don't think. Those headlights do make me want to make some of my own.
I just want to say josh's products rock; izntrbl for life
They look pretty mint, good job josh.
98 j-body sedan
well i still havent got around to snapping some pics of them yet, but i will try to soon. i took a look at the paint today and it needs a few more coats and some wet sanding. by end of tomorrow they should be ready for mounting.

well easy way is just to stay out of every thread that deals with his eyelids and stop sayin youhave the real ones we know already you have the real ones you keep making post about them and then say it in JOsh's threads.
