Uh Ohh!

The other day a friend of mine got stuck in a ditch and called me to help. well all i had was my sunfire sedan. well i tied a tow rope to the trunk latch thats connected to the body. well i was able to pull my friend out of the ditched but i f*ed up my trunk latch. (didnt think the steel was that weak). Now the trunk doesnt latch right and the trunk sits really bad on it. It even pops open after a drive to the store or something. I was wondering if anyone here used Trunk Pins or something of that nature to hold there trunks down? Any info on this or how to do this would be sweet man.

Why in the blue hell would you tie something to the trunk latch to tow of all things? Should've wrapped the rope around a crash guard or something supportive under the car.

The problem now is that you most likely pulled your quarters in also when you pulled by the trunk latch. What you have to do is push your whole rear panel back in. The latch did not move, what did move was the rear panel the latch is bolted down too.
Try to take some pics so that we can help you out some more.

you're probably going to have to take it to a body shop and have them check it out to make sure you didn't do more damage than just the trunk latch like David said.

well he said he hooked it to the latch part for the trunk. the only other thing i can think of that he might have broken . He could have bent the inside metal to the rear
