hey guys i have a 2000 z-24 cavalier and love it yet bought it used and well like most people the other owner didnt condition the rubber and of course its rotten in spots. i have a few ??? so bear with me. ok #1 when it rains med to heavy out i seem to get a decent amount of water inthe car it doesnt seem to be coming in the top of the window i tested this option. the water shows up on the rear floor behind the pass seat yet the side under the panels are dry its just the floor pan peice of carpet. #2 my pass side front door glass when i open it has little peices of rubber attached to the glass cause it is sticking to it any tipos to stop this cause im tinting my windows and dont want this in the future to f up my tint. #3 i have the chrome wheels and have a matching spare in my trunk and since its a full size i cant use the cover yet when i iopen up my trunk i find mositure all over the face of the rim in the trunk yet cloths and such are dry any ideas on this. #4 i have the part numbers to rplace the rubber around the windsheild its like 400 any body have the numbers for the rubber on the top its self for any furture repairs that would need replacement?

Lets see.... To keep the rubber from sticking to the window use some petroleum jelly. The moisture on your wheel is due to condensation on the metal since the metal will stay colder longer and thus moisture will form on it while the clothes don't really hold heat unless you're wearing them so no moisture will build up on them. I couldn't really tell you about how water is getting in the rear passenger area (my top leaks where the window/top/windshield meet). I couldn't tell you the number for the rubber on top either. I'm sure if you talked to John317 he'd have the number for the rubber piece you need and he has alot more insight than I do.

I have similar problems,my vert. leaks from the main seal around the windshield frame and along the seals on the top itself ,you can take the seals off the top itself and shim them out with a few washers and treat the rubber with vaseline, put some saran wrap around it until it dries a little,in most cases you will still get some on your window. One company,Softseal, makes all the seals,or get them through GM,the main seal is $310,as far as the trunk, again check the trunk seal and i'd put your smaller spare back in so you can use your cover and utilize your trunk space
