Guys,
When looking at the different vendors Lambo kits what are the differences in quality? Also, I had thought I read somewhere that MMS was selling their kits for $500.00 but on their website it says $599.00. I emailed them 3 days ago, but no reply.
I know it's a pretty much either love the doors or hate 'em... but does the brand of kit make a difference? What is the worst thing about them? i know the best thing is they are just dang kewl
Thanks again
yes they are all different in there own ways. Some are thicker than others. Some open wider. Some have @!#$ty shocks. Some are 90 degree some are 45 degree. Best bet is look into it and do a search on here. They have all been used and comments made about them. I personally have the VDI kit. Probably the most expensive one out there, but in my opinion has the best Warranty out there. I didnt even need a new strut but one of the bolts that was on it rusted a little and when I called them they sent me 2 new nuts and 2 new struts all for free and didnt even have to pay the shipping!
Anyone had experence with this company?

Not yet, but I've got a set on order (haven't shipped because they are waiting on shocks) but once it comes in I'll be sure to have some input for you.

I just got my hinges from Xtreme-Doors in today. The package was TOTALED..but everything inside was ok...
These things are HEAVY! Like 15+ pounds each..the construction looks really good too.
The only thing I'm worried about is the lack of a guide or other method to keep the door open while up and prevent it from coming inwards.
I'm not 100% sure about the shocks. Only 1 per door. But as of yet, I have not been able to get them to lower. (when the hinge is put together, I can put my entire weight, 300 lbs, on them and it won't budge! So well see how they work once the doors are on...
The "LPP" or Lower Pivotal Point ( nothing more than a large bolt sat into a concave opening) looks like it might just solve that "lower blowout" that I've seen on a bunch of lambo doors.
I used the shock and the other hinge to prop the hinge open for the photo...
as you can see in the photos, the door can open up quite a bit, the photos above and below show the maximum opening angle both outwards and upwards (with the shock installed it looks between 40 and 45 degrees) however you can see that with the right mods and new shocks, these hinges WILL do a full 90!

I was thinking the same thing on the VDI Kit as well when i put it together before i put it on. I couldnt budge it at all. Once on the car it made a huge difference though. Goes up and down fairly easy.
Also on the one strut design i believe is bettere to have one good one than have 2 smaller ones. If you have two smaller ones and one goes out it still isnt gonna hold up the door.
I am a dealer for xtreme-doors so if anybody want to order a set just PM me.

Little update on these hinges. Crap. Too many issues to even try to work around. They just didn't think this one through. I mean, the hinge wouldn't close because the hinge would hit the strut. If they tested these they would know that they either needed a larger strut block..or a spacer/washer. the kit didn't come with instructions. The Lower Pivot Point stopped being usefull after a few openings and closings to *TRY* to get the fitment right...which never happened, With the kit set as far fowards and as far inwards as it would go...the rear of the door where it meets the rear quarter panel only had 1/32nds clearance or less. There is a bunch more to this...I've got pics and discriptions on my cardomain page..on page 8
The Graveyard that's where I put all my dead mods. These things MIGHT fit after some serious modifications to not only the car..but the hinge itself. Of which defeats the purpose of being 'direct bolt on" or as the company puts it .... "easy installation right out of the box" not quite.

Damn man.... that is lame. Hopefully you can get everything taken care of. I know it sucks to be happy about something and it doesn't go as planned.
Sucks about the hinges being junk, hopefully they take care of you on a refund.
On a side note, someone should photoshop the word BOY onto your license plate, haha.

Damn sorry to hear this dude. Did they work with you at all with it? This is why I love my VDI kit. Went on without problems and when I had a minor problem....2 years later they still corrected it! I love VDI. Pricey but well worth it!

No..that would be lame! Sadly I'm sure that is what people are going to be thinking...up until all the radioactive, fallout, shock and atom symbols make it to the car.

I'm lost? That photos was during the fitting phase. It would have been sweet to have them actually work. SUPER BUMMED!
I picked them up from Jason at Aplus and he's been the coolest dude to work with EVER. I would hope that everyone on the org would have the pleasure to do business with him! I feel wicked bad that I ended up getting not one but 2 products with major issues. But, as with anything..it's bound to happen. I'm just glad I got someone like Jason to work with..because anyone else would be like..too bad...so sad...leave me alone.
Thanks Jason!
