Hey guys wasn't sure were to put this but its here.
I got tires put on my rims and then the rims went on the car. Well the tires i didnt like them so i got new ones well heres the thing.
I go to get the pass rear rim off and one of the lugnuts is stripped
Thing about it is they are the lugnuts that have the keys on the inside.
Is their anything i can do or if anything can be done to get that lugnut off so i can finish taking the rim off the car.
At this point im open to anything, Becuase if that tire goes out im basicly SOL
Thanks
Casper
5 seconds to find another street...
take it to a tire/rim specialist....they usually have special keys/sockets to remove stripped lugs
only thing you could prolly do yourself is drill it out and replace the stud all together
weld a nut to it....and unscrew it
take a slightly bigger socket and hammer it on
tryed nevered relized how hard it is to find a 13mm hex key.... never thought bout that weldable nut thing. Then agian i dont have a welder.

A 13mm hex key or drive is next to impossible to find and just big enough to be about 0.012" too big for a half inch hex drive (if you can find one). For the time that you spend looking for a 13mm drive, drilling out a stud or welding a nut to the lug you might as well take it to the wheel specialist and have them do it in a matter of minutes.
i went to auction gator tire today and the Manager was their we got to talking and i told him my situation. He said best bet is to weld a nut/bolt in their and get it off. Said he ran into this problem b4 and this is only the really most effective way to get it out with out damaging up the rim.
Thanks again
Now if i can only find sumone that has a welder we are in bussness

or like i said get a slightly bigger socket and hammer it on. get a 12 point socket and hammer it on. ive seen it done before. ive broke a key off in my lug before, took it to the tire shop and thats exactly what they did. ever since that day i switched and never used an open end lug again. get a set of mcgard splinedrive lugs and you'll be very happy
Same thing happened to me 3 years ago. Took it to a shop and they got it out in no time. By playing with the stripped lug yourself you might end up stripping it even more and it might be harder to remove.
