I bought a black painted Drift front from Karnage awhile ago and it's been on my car for some time now I've had some comments on the color so how many think a black Drift front looks good on a white car or should I paint it white,I don't know what to do.Suggestions welcome

Multicoloured cars suck. If you had an actual two tone paint scheme then yes, but different bumpers and sideskirts, NO.
Paint it the same colour as your car.

Sometimes it doesn't look to bad. Most of the time it looks horrible. I like it on lets say a red car with black skits but the paint on the bumpers has to be the same height as the side skirts.
id paint it personally...but if you like it, go with it
Yeah that's what I was thinking of,just painting it bright white, same as the car. Thanks for the opinions and what grit paper should I start and finish with for paint prep?800-2000?
Wicked:I don't have any pics as of yet,I know I need to update the sig.Car needs a drop ,bad.

if your taking to somewhere to get painted, let them prep it. some places wont touch a part if they didnt prep it and if they do paint it, they probably wont warranty the work
I find that black body pieces under a colored car tend to make it look higher off the ground than it really is, which normally isn't desirable.

i agree with Mike, alot of places will re-prep it and still charge you for it just so they know exactly whats happened with the piece(s)
best bet is to figure out where you will get it painted, and ask them if they care if you prep it. if it is currently painted black, i would hit it with a 320 grit before primer. then usually a 320 or 500 after primer depending on how well the primer coats and sands out. but dont prime it with rattle can, or they'll most definately sand it all back down and start over with the prepping.

get a full kit too or leave it off imo
Already sold the stock z front and I have that free Bomex rear from Pawned which also needs paint but I'm debating on the Drift rear and sideskirts,I have a hookup for the Drift rear but not the sideskirts, money is a problem right now so I'm trying to do alot of the work myself

When painting a Polyurethane or Plastic bumper like this that already has paint on it do you need to use a flex agent in the paint or just sand a bit, prime, paint, clear?
diff need the whole kit just having the front bumper looks really off considering the drift kit is really low to the grond and the rest of your car will sit higher off the ground. im speaking from expeince i was rolling with the front bumper and rear but no side skirts i hated the look till i got my skirts but to each his own if u like it go for it ,,.

its a very good idea to use flex agent. some do, some dont, but in the end, i think its worth it. my girls old type-j we just got rid of didnt have flex agent in it, and lets just say the entire bumper flexed the paint right off 80% of the bumper. granted the guy who painted it SUCKED and did a terrible job, but ya, i would use it.
yea its a good idea to use it especially if its urethane. urethane is known to bend and flex when you hit something so like joey said, if there isnt anything in there, when it bends, its just going to crack the paint and its just going to keep flaking off after that.
I just painted the first coat the Bomex rear and am starting soon on the Drift front and will post up finished pics

other than getting them painted white, the only other way it would look good is if you followed the line that the bumpers create, across the side of the car and over the doors that way it 2-tones it.

Yeah, having just the front with no sides/rear looks retarded. get the rest.

loooks like it fits your car pretty good bud, im glad to hear that. How is it all working out for you? But, even though I really like the gunmetal color that bumper it would look much better with the rest of the kit, which I can keep an eye out for, or if you want bomex sides and can repair do a lil glassing, I will let them go cheap and you can go with rear bomex and sides and drift front, that would be nice, or full drift is pretty cool too.

what do the Bomex sides look like?
