I'm going to be painting the little grills on the front of my 03 sunfire, the ones between the signal lights and I'm just curious if I should use a primer first. I'm not looking for it to be super smooth or anything, all I was planning on doing is cleaning them really well and taking a high grit sandpaper and just scuffing up what I can than spraying on some paint. But will a primer keep things painting better?
Always sand, sand and sand.... then clean.... the primer, sand, primer, sand, clean before painting.
...
Alright, I thought sanding/primering multiple times like that was just to get a fiberglass smoothness look, which is what I was doing to some interior pieces. But thank you, looks like more sore fingers for me!
