no sir.. the j was recplaced with the cobalt.. the delta platform.
only thing they share. is the 2.2 Na ecotec motor.. or i could be wrong
I am looking to mold/swap in the tail lights off the cobalt coupe trunk to my cavy trunk this winter. I think they will compliment my 2k toyo outers nicely.

The rear twist beam looks strangely similar to a second gen axle.

no J ever came with the 2.4 eco. we had the 2.4 twin came...completely different engine, just had the same displacement.
im sure there are a few other things that the Js and Ds share, but they are nothing that you would want to swap...just like basic components or electrical, etc.
Right,my bad I thought it had the ld9

you can lose the "atm". there will never be another J-body again. (unless they reuse the J designation down the road for a different platform).

yes the cobalt is
"supposed" to be nothing like the J's.... but honestly, when im driving in my cobalt... it feels just like my cavalier, just a little less rattles
Yeah, cobalts aree more sturdy, but dont look very good imo. Too blocky.
im pretty sure most of the time you take one part of a car and put it onto a different car, chances are custom work will be required...(except for the sunfire and cav with some exceptions of course
).
