fender help **PIC REQUEST**

so i have made some stupid choices when it came to my car, and this includes having idiots work on my car when they should never be allowed to touch a car, not even to drive one!!!! not that i'm bitter or anything. but you live and you learn. anyway, i had someone put on my stock fenders (and take off my z3's) and repaint the car (in which they did an awful job in which i am now in need of a new paint job). but back to the fenders. They put my fenders on and everything seemed fine. 2 winters ago, i go out to get in my car and when i open the door, it hits the fender. i have a choice of either climbing in my passenger side or opening my driver side and creasing the fender. at the time i didn't have time to fix it and so i just creased the fender and a few months later got a new one. well, this past winter, the same thing happened!!!!! i am assuming it is doing it because the guy who put my stock fenders back on, but, or hopefully not, but maybe even removed the metal braces attached to the frame of the car that keeps the fender from moving....which i never told him to do....i mentioned to him i was contemplating putting lambo hinges on, but never once told him to f*** up my car. Is there a picture of this brace i am thinking of? i am going to take hte fenders off this week because its my spring break and i have time to work on the car a little, but i need to know what exactly it looks like and that way i know if its removed....and if it is...what do i do? thanks

i don't have any myself, however if you got a little time you could peruse a few lambo install threads and look through the pics in them. i know there were a few nicely detailed ones.

good luck man.

I do not have a picture of the brace.. but if the stock brace is not on the fender will not sit tightly to your vehicle... also if it is removed you will see a perfect square that is unpainted with 2 screw holes....

so if they are not there, this is a part i could buy at a junkyard? i didn't know if it was welded on and he hammered them off or somehow cut them off

it is a simple piece to take off.... it's attached to the fender using two screws... one screw is at the top.. accessible when the door is open... the other you have to take out from the inside of the fender (remove the fender liner and you'll see it).... then to remove it the fender has to be off and it's held on by 2 screws... here's the best picture I could find of it
