headlight conversion

I have a really stupid question. I was looking for projector headlights for my '00 cavalier and I am sad that I can't find any except ones for '95-'99 years. Question is has anyone found any for a '00 that I haven't and if not, ( I know it's kinda backward from the norm ) would it be worth it or even possible to convert my headlights to the older style so I can have projectors? I know it would Be some work with the wiring and I think theres some work with the bumper to make it look right, but I was wondering if the projectors are bright enough and look good enough to try it? Any information you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated. I'm new to this site but this is my second cavalier I have owned so i'm always up for comments.

You have to custom make the projectors for 2000 ^.......As far as reverting back, it's possible..check the stickies..stay away from IZNTRBL

Link in my sig to convert 00 to 95-99 headlights....my article is also in the FAQ and sticky^^! It wasn't too bad of a job to do and lots of people would like to get your 00 parts for there own conversion....or keep them and revert back at any time. I've always heard the projectors not having enough light output but i guess HIDs would help that.

build your own 00-02 headlights with a retro solutions kit or infinity fx35's-benz E55's. cheap knockoff projectors are always crap...u get what u paid for. just spend what you would on a set of 95-99s, on some QUALITY projector units and build your own. youll be much happier in the end

all you need is an the older front bumper.. the headlights and to make life easier for you in the wiring department, get the 95-99 headlight wiring harness.. this swap is mabe an hour worth of work max. no you dont need a hood, but you will need to get the older fenders because your 2000-2002 fenders does not have the needed corner light brackets that are tac welded to the 95-99 fenders. but if you were to get the one piece headlights that are on ebay you can get away with just using your 2000-2002 fenders..

this is by far the easiest way to go on a retro. although the ones linked are a "universal" kit, i would suggest getting one that is bulb specific, it will give you much easier installation.

the output on them is pretty decent, although it does not compare to some of the infinity and acura clear lensed models available today. the 00-02 headlights are hard to retrofit mainly because when you place the projector in the housing, in order for the projector to clear the lens of the headlight, you have to mount it so far back it makes it very difficult to mount.
The 95-99 projectors that are out there are so horrible, and cheesy, and the output is rediculously bad.....they are totally not worth it. it is a defonate downgrade in the lighting department....even with HID.

Not only that, but the ones in that link DO NOT come with Ballasts included (WILL COST MUCH MORE WITH BALLASTS). And they advertise the BULBS included to be universal to different Ballast Wattages (NOT RECOMMENDED) (VERY VERY BAD!!!!!!!). AND....Good luck dealing with CHINA !!!!!!!!

I can get similar 50 Watt Digital for any application, any temp., any color, anytime with "Factory Lifetime Warranty" (from US). $350 + shippping.
Also includes easy to follow instructions & 2 - tubes of "Factory Quality" headlight sealant.

And I am available for complete builds & Technical assistance for the "do it yourselfers".

I can also make "Custom Clear Lenses" by request for almost any application.

i also have a 2000 cavalier and the 99 projector swap was not that bad. I would say go for it. the only thing that you have to do it glue a bracket on your fender(i used fiberglass, resin and epoxy) and build your bumper up. You may need to respray your bumper depending on how you build it up. I originally made a piece separate of my bumper that built it up to the size of the 99 headlight and used a double sided tape to bond the piece I made to the bumper. Eventually I liked the look and I molded it in and resprayed the front bumper...
