shave reverse lights on 00-02 sunfire bumper???

Just wondering if anyone has shaved the reverse lights out of the 00-02 sunfire gt bumpers.

I like the way the bumper looks with that small lip, but I hate the reverse lights.

So I figured some plastic welding or fiberglass would work, but I wanted to see if anyone here has done it and some of your thoughts.
