ok so i own a 1999 chevy cavalier sedan and i love the z24 bumpers and skirt but don't have the money to go to a body shop to install them ,,,is it hard to install them or is it easy ? i found a donor car but its a 1997 z24 would it matter what year it is and what do i have to do to swap the bumpers and attach the skirts???
front and rear a bolt on, you just need the wheel well liners and the z24 foam bumper. the side skirts your going to have to get the clipse and drill your own holes for them.
just do it yourself. even for a newbie a good weekend will save you lots of money.
ok so i need the plastic bumpers the skirts and the foam bumper?
oh and the wheel well liners?
why would he need the foam support he should already have that
Different bumper shapes...
219whp - I <3 whine
ok well why do i need the wheel well liners and what about the rear bumper foam do i need that too?
you were just told you need the foam support.
don't forget about clips for the sides.
azn cav said i need the wheel well liners??? and where do i get the clips?
yes you do as the z24 bumper is lower and will not except the base bumper liner. the clips you can get from your dealer or you can try to pull them from a z24 at a yard
ok so is the foam bumper is that a bolt on or do i got to modify some things?
the front bumper foam uses the same black clips . remove the base model foam . place the z24 bumepr foam. and reuse the clipse. there the push in type and you only need the front

Make sure you don't have a honeycomb behind your stock bumpers. If you do, they can be trimmed to accommodate the Z24 bumpers, a Sawzall will be your best friend
honey combs werent used until the 00-05 models . 95-99 have foam .
wait your right,. i think it is honey comb. i believe my 96 had it. but i dont remember. either way yuo use the z24 foam bumper or trim like he said.

Here's a pic of how I trimmed mine for my BC front. I had to put my Z24 front back on after I busted the BC and the Z24 mounted fine...
ok how does it look b4 the triming? any pics?
i had the honeycomb stuff on my 02 and didnt have to trim at all. fit rite on.... didnt have to replace the fender linings either, and the skirts I drilled my own holes and attached it myself, it has some gaps but arent noticeable unless you are looking for them.

2000-2002 cavalier base bumpers and z24 bumpers are the exact same shape unlike the 95-1999 which are not.
gotcha, im a cav newb. have a cobalt and cav and know more about the cobalt cuz ive had it for 3 and a half years. and the cav for a few months lol
you learn something new every day.
front the 95 right to 05 had the honeycomb on the front, but always foam on the rear from what I remember.
