How to hide Underglow tubes?
Tuesday, December 15, 2009 8:44 PM
I just put my drift rear bumper on. We had to cut a huge piece off the bottom because it was too big and ugly looking. It looks much better now, but you can see the underglow tube and it is crooked. Not very attractive. What ways can I hide the tube or make it straighter? I had to put it in crooked because of the zip ties, and I had to keep it away from the exhaust muffler someway. Could I put mesh underneath the bumper like i am going to do for the front? Will that look decent? The underglow will shine through it I am sure. Thanks!

why dont you just mount it to the rear bumper or make new holes for zip ties.

why the hell are you useing zip ties? the kit should come with brackets. the brackets will screw to the bottom or backside of the bumper bar. zipties will break over time do to weathering.

If you toss them in the trash can i guarantee that no one will make fun of you for seeing it hanging under your car.

JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again

Agreed. The brothers was mounted like Josh Ferry's in the rear. The side neons were tucked up into the side skirts, and the front was up inside the bumper. Nothing could be seen on his car.

exectly the same in my car my sides were tucked behind that plastic line so you can't see the side tubes unless im parked on a hill and your kneeling down looking up at my car

driver side was kind of hard to do with the fuel lines being in the way

@!#$ty cellphone picture and the sun is setting on a cloudy day but mine are bright as hell and they are neon not LED

the reason why their not bright in the pic is because the camera dulls it down, plus it was just raining out. the sides are easily covered by teh side skirts, but the rear if u stand behind it you can see the bulb. from the side angle you cant see it but from the back it looks pretty bad, i can find a way to hide it better. thanks

if it just rained then the concrete/blacktop should be like a mirror and brighten up everything. i know what im talking about i had them on before. Im not dising your neons they just look weak. are they the actual streetglow exterior lights?

well, since no one has answered your question that i can see anyway i will.

you wanna know how to hide them? move them farther under the car! is it really that hard to figure out? don't put them right next to the outside of the car or they'll b clear as day like in ur pic. i'm not sure y that was so hard to figure out?

well if you want me to hold his hand and do it for him just let me know

figured out when he saw the brackets and where they were placed he could figure it out on his own

1. take your current LED off
2. go to any hardware store and find brackets like the one in the picture
3. mount new brackets to where your spare tire is
4. insert LED

if you're worried about water or anything getting where your spare tire is, buy some silicone
