ok so i've been thinking about painting my door handles and mirrors for awhile now to color match it to the car.
here's my problem.
i have the paint color and the code, so i go to the local auto parts store that's told me bfore they can color match anything with the paint code. so i give them the code and they tell me that color does'nt exist! i'm like, look man i've seen a million ariival blue cars rollin around just this town how could it not exist?
so anyways what are my options now? i know i could probly go to a dealer but who know how far they'd bend me over on that.
or should i just call around local shops? see how much they'd charge to make me some? this was just something i had planned on rattle canning if i could get away with it.
any help is always appreciated.
edit numero uno- i forgot to ask do i have the wrong code? 91/wa815k?

where did you get that code from??? im not at home so i cannot check mine but it is located under the spare tire cover... Good Luck
are you going to a body shop supplier, and you need this,,,,,,example 41u, wa 815
give both sets of numbers
can i haz bondo
If you figure it out, let me know. I've been trying to get some paint color matched and nobody can seem to get me Arrival Blue either...
take your car back to where you were and have the guy come out and get the paint code off your door. thats what i did. and if its a stock color and a auto color place doesnt have it. then go to a different paint shop
i have paint books yu need the color??
^ i know the color, and i know the code. unless it's wrong, i looked it up online and it was the only code i could find for gm's arrival blue. on about a dozen different websites. so i don't see how it could be wrong.
then go to a different place. i have no idea why that place is still in business if it doesnt have that stock color. i wonder what other colors they dont carry
I had that problem with one of my blazer's. Just go to a GM dealership they will give you everything you need.
To account for the possibility of subtle differences in factory paint shade and fading over time, I take the gas door to a paint shop that scans the color and produces an exact color match.
^willl they put it in a spray can for you? also what's the price like?
JO3Y to the muffukin rescue!
i had seen that first link you posted but u have to order a minimum of 3 cans and they're like twenty bucks a pop. that cobaltss link could prove to be very useful, i'll be goin into a dealer soon to try it out.
thanx man.
no problem Jay, let us know how it works out.
Nice find JO3Y, I also think that the Cobalt site is going to come in very helpful when I get around to painting my calipers and touching up on a few places.
